What an afternoon we had yesterday at our club Pasty and Pint event! More than 100 people turned up to either do one of our walks, put their backs into the tug of war, search for treasure or enjoy the food, drinks and company.

The event made an incredible £1,000 that the club will use to get more people out on the water.

We are hugely grateful to those suppliers who generously supported our event Crackington Cider Company Firebrand Brewing Co Dizzy Dairy and Boscastle Bakery.

We’re always grateful that the brilliant Tintagel Brewery is supporting our community-led club.

And last but by no means least, we want to reach out to Ray, Ella, Nicki and to all the staff at Toby Jug Cafe, Boscastle who support us and our community so generously throughout the year. Thanks for your huge contribution to yesterday’s event. One day we’ll get you in a boat!

Appledore Supervets Championships - what an awesome weekend!

Harbour entered four crews. Each crew did themselves and the club proud, with three reaching the semifinals!

Over the course of the weekend there was a bit of controversy and a lot of properly competitive oar-bending 💪

It’s not just about the racing though. Every single one of us had a top weekend, spent with the super friendly gig rowing community. We rowed hard and some of us partied hard too. We even had the chance to celebrate a birthday. Are you officially old yet Paul?

With huge thanks to APPLEDORE PILOT GIG CLUB for organising such a brilliant and well-run event.

Next stop for us is Weymouth for the mixed champs. Bring it on!

Our junior section, Harbour Hurricanes, is growing fast!

Last week alone we got 8 new young rowers out on the water. We love sharing the love for our sport with new rowers, and we very much expect that some of these young people will be the stars of the future!

Today we traveled to Lyme Regis for some properly competitive gig racing. We rowed hard, we ignored the rain and we came away being the 🔝 Cornish club at the regatta (we’re great at inventing categories that mean we win something!)

A huge‘thank you’ to Lyme Regis Gig Club for inviting us. We love your regatta and can’t wait for next year’s! A huge thanks too to Tom for towing, and to our fantastic coxes, Tony and Steve, and to Elizabeth for taking the photos 😃

Yesterday a group of our Harbour Hurricanes joined forces with Cotehele Quay Gig Club and Tamar & Tavy Gig Club for a brilliant juniors training session on the Tamar.

As usual, Cotehele made all of the young rowers feel very welcome. Our juniors did themselves proud and loved the session, especially the sneaky races at the end of the day!

We can’t wait to invite both clubs to come and row out of Boscastle.

Yesterday Harbour’s members headed to Roadford Lake to introduce our fantastic sport to 13 - yes thirteen - new rowers.

Every day we are receiving messages from people keen to give gig rowing a try. Our club’s all about getting people out on the water.

Growing as fast as we are does present some challenges. We need more sea coxes. We need more volunteers and we need to raise more money to enable us to buy the equipment that gets everyone rowing. Even if you don’t fancy rowing but think you could help in other ways, we’d love to hear from you.
