The Season Fixtures for 2026 are now available on our website. The Club now have 6 Teams that that play in 4 different divisions; The Eccles and District Bowling League, Swinton & Pendlebury Bowling League, Farnworth & District Parks Veterans Bowling League.

It is with sadness to announce the passing of Ann Lysons, a long standing and much respected former member of our club. Ann and her late husband Sid were valued members of our bowling family for many years and will be remembered by all.
The funeral will take place at 12 noon on Thursday November 20, 2025 at Howe Bridge crematorium with a gathering afterwards at the Woodside from 1.30pm

Sixteen members volunteered to help clear the green of autumn leaves this weekend whilst the green team applied the finishing touches to the autumn renovation work. The efforts of volunteers make a real difference to the upkeep and enjoyment of our facility. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves, lend a hand and take pride in our club is what keeps it at its best, being a first class facility. Thank you to all.

Games night again at the bowling pavilion, absolutely well organised by Graham Moar. A good mixture of both social members and full club members which emphasised the unity within the club. Everybody enjoyed the friendship and a raffle was held with the sum of £75 added to the donations raised since the passing of Allan Price. That total is now well over £400 and in accordance with Allan’s wishes shall be shared between the bowling group and the art group.

During the new fence negotiations by the trustees of the bowling club with Salford City Council a request was made for new benches around the bowling green. Not only did they agree to that they also supplied a total of fourteen new benches for the park itself. They have all been recently fitted and a some regular users of the park have already thanked members of the bowling club for their hard work in securing all the improvements. Our resident handyman Geoff Fryer has been working hard to develop the gutters around the green with recycled artificial grass. It looks very smart.

The funeral of Allan Price will be held at Overdale Crematorium, Overdale Drive, Bolton BL1 5BU at 2.15pm Wednesday 29 January, 2025. Afterwards there will be a gathering at the Moorings PH close to the Boothstown Bowling Club pavilion. At Allan’s request, no flowers but donations would be welcome, equally to both the bowling club and/or Allan’s art group which meets every Monday at the pavilion. Any cheques should be made payable to Boothstown Bowling Club. Also a donation box will be available at the funeral.

The new fence has been completed in less than two weeks. Whilst it is expected to be functional from comments so far it is also aesthetically pleasing. There are a couple of issues to be sorted with regard to the double gates and the protruding existing protection boards. Our ever ready club handyman Geoff Fryer has already decided what is needed and will resolve things prior to the bowling season. New benches will be provided in the next few weeks to enhance the furniture around the green. Also Boothsbank Park is to benefit from the works with new features resultant from the bowling club trustees negotiations with Salford City Council. It has to be said that the Council have been very supportive to the bowling club and park in recent years.

On Monday 13 January 2025 one of our longest playing members Allan Price passed away in Salford Royal Hospital after a short illness. He was a fun man to have within the club and will be greatly missed. As soon as we have more information regarding Allan funeral, we will notify members via our website. .
