Brass Monkey Half today……with little distance training and 8 months after abdominal hysterectomy, I had no idea where to pace the run. I felt better than expected and exceeded expectation with a consistent 7.50 ish min mile pace, finishing in 1hr 42 🤗
4 mins off last year but not a bad comeback benchmark 💪🤗 Legs were definitely powered by strength training 🏋️‍♀️

When you join your Ironman husband on his last long ‘easy’ training ride before the Ironman World Championships in Nice next week.
Huge contrast in our fitness, one at peak fitness and one in post surgery recovery!
Great few hours out though! Breezy and warm 😊

DEADLIFTS…..great compound exercise that’s so easy to do incorrectly and putting yourself at risk of injury.
With help from .pt
💫 be sure to hip hinge rather than squat
💫 keep the bar close to your legs
💫engage your lats
💫 Power up, squeezing glutes at top
💫 Repeat in reverse, careful not to squat down too soon 👌
