🚫𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗: 𝗡𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴

Unfortunately, due to the current level of local flooding and disruption on the roads, I've decided to 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀.

Although I'm hoping conditions will improve this afternoon, I don't feel 100% safe driving this evening and I don't want to encourage anyone else to risk unnecessary journeys.

If you are travelling today, please stay safe and I'll see you all at training next week.

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐬 - 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞!

Learn traditional Wado-Ryu Karate in a friendly and welcoming environment. Join us on Tuesday evenings at Durweston Village Hall. Our classes cater to everyone aged 6 and up, juniors and adults, from complete beginners to advanced grades.

𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞:

🥋 7:30pm - 9:00pm: Adults & experienced students of all ages

Having just seen the Met Office has issued a red warning for Dorset due to storm Eunice, I've decided to cancel this evening's class (18/02/2022) at Manston Village Hall. Apologies for the short notice. Training will resume as normal next week.

Batten down the hatches and stay safe.

A massive congratulations to all students who took part in yesterday's grading. After what has been a difficult couple of years it was amazing to see everyone finally able to achieve their next belt. You all deserve to be very proud of yourselves!

It was an extra special day for Alex who passed his black belt (1st Dan) and Helen and Barry who passed their 2nd Dans. It's been a long wait and it was a tough grading, but all your hard work really paid off.

Keep up the great work. See you all at training soon.

I know many of you are looking forward to our first grading in nearly 2 years! To help you prepare, I'm running a pre-grading course this Sunday (24th October) at Blandford Leisure Centre (Milldown Rd, Blandford Forum DT11 7DB) between 10:00am-12:00pm.

Over the two hours we will cover linework, Kata and for those students who need them, Kihons and pairs work. This course isn't just for those hoping to grade in November, any students looking for some extra practice are more than welcome.

The pre-grading course costs £4.50 per student which you can pay using our online booking system.

I've really enjoyed seeing the sport I love, practice and teach demonstrated on the world stage during Tokyo 2020. Obviously I'm biased but I feel it's a shame it hasn't been picked up for inclusion in future Olympic games.

If you haven't seen any of the covage of the Kata or Kumite I encourage you to search it out.

It may only be a fleeting visit to the Olympic roster but the Japanese art of karate has thrown up some incredible moments at Tokyo 2020.
