Blairgowrie Hockey Club

We are a ladies hockey team that play in the Midlands league. We also have primary age junior teams that play in a number of different competitions.

We play in Division 2 of the Midlands league. . We train on a Monday (time and venue dependant on time of year), either at JJ Coupar ground, the Newhill pitch or Coupar Angus astro. All ladies, girls and boys of High School age are welcome to come along. We also have primary age (5-11 years) coaching on a Monday night in an earlier session. Today we played our first match of the season. It was a even match played in good spirits. Everybody worked hard and we look forward to our next match.

Our goalscorer today was Aly A.

🏑Hockey starts back on Monday🏑

Hockey training for all ages and abilities starts back on Monday 7th Sept on the Astro pitch at Live Active Blairgowrie.
6pm: Primary aged children & S1 & S2’s
7pm: S3 upwards & adults
The ladies team trains at 7pm so if you would like to join the team please come along. If you would like to just come along to do hockey for fitness you are very welcome to join as well.

This weekend the club celebrated its 95th Anniversary. We thank everyone who attended the events for making it a lovely weekend.

It was great to welcome some enthusiastic kids to come and try on Saturday morning and for the youth festival on Sunday morning.

Memories were shared and laughs were had. From drinks and nibbles on Friday to walking hockey and a delicious dinner at the golf club on Saturday. It was lovely to celebrate with former and current members of the squad alongside our main sponsor Julia from J Rennie Haulage and Dougie Potter our guest speaker.

We also thank our other sponsors Simply Sparkling and Revive Physiotherapy and Wellbeing for their continued support.

Free hockey sessions this Saturday 29th Aug.

As part of the club’s 95th anniversary celebrations, Blairgowrie Hockey Club will be running free junior hockey at the J.J. Coupar Park, (where the Rugby and Cricket club are). Come along and try it out. All equipment will be provided.

A tough game against a strong Madras side, but nice weather, good company, and some hard goodbyes.

We heard from Melissa, our goal keeper, who played her last game with Blairgowrie today.

Our final game of the season is against Madras at 1.30pm in St Andrews today.
