π΅πΉπ€π©· UNITY FC β THE TIKI TAKA TOUR 2026! π©·π€
5 days in Albufeira, unbelievable memories, plenty of football, endless banter, sore heads, lost voices and a group of lads who have made memories to last a lifetime! ππ»
What a week itβs been for Unity FC on the Tiki Taka Tour! β½οΈ
On the pitch, the lads did us incredibly proud, finishing the tournament as RUNNERS-UP! π₯ After topping the group stages, Unity battled through a tense semi-final which went all the way to penalties, showing unbelievable character to book our place in the final. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be on the day, suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat, but every single lad can hold their head high after the performances they put in throughout the tournament. π€π©·
π Player of the Tournament β Jono! π§€
Some absolutely outstanding performances between the sticks, pulling off save after save and proving just how important he is to this team. Fully deserved, Jono! π
π Dick of the Tour β Ben Hamer!
There was never any doubt about this one! Constantly on the wind-up, making everyone laugh every time he opened his mouth. But the highlight has to be him standing at the end of the management's beds at 6am, still absolutely steaming, laughing his head off with a Breezer in his hand! π€£πΉ Tom and Scobie will never forget that sight! Not forgetting him building forts in the hallway barricading everyone in using the ironing board, coffee machine, table and microwave while we all sleep..... π€£π€£π€£
And then there's the nicknames that will probably stick around forever...
ποΈ Mike β 10 Minute Phillips
𧀠Jono β Pillowhands Anderson
π― Gav β Your S**t
We'll leave it there before anyone else gets offended! ππ
One of the best moments of the entire trip had nothing to do with Unity winning a game. When Supply Line scored in their third-place play-off final, the Unity lads invaded the pitch and created absolutely incredible scenes! π€£π That's what these trips are all about β supporting one another, celebrating together and making memories with people who have become so much more than just football teammates.
From the first day to the last, the banter never stopped. There have been laughs from morning until night, questionable decisions, some very heavy drinking, plenty of sore heads and moments that will be talked about for years to come!
Every single lad has been brilliant. β€οΈ
It's been amazing seeing everyone enjoy every minute, come together and experience something special. This trip has been about so much more than football. It's about friendship, belonging, laughter and creating memories that we'll carry with us long after the tournament is over.
Now, some heads are trying to recover, voices have completely disappeared, and a few of us are probably questioning some of our life choices! π€£ It's time to adjust back to normality, get some sleep, rehydrate and remember that we're expected to function like normal human beings again!
To everyone who played, laughed, supported each other and helped make these five days so special β THANK YOU. π΅πΉβ€οΈ
We came to Portugal to compete, and we leave as runners-up, but the memories we've created are worth far more than any trophy.
This is Unity. This is family. This is what it's all about. π€π©·
One club. One family. Together. π€
