Thursday Night Football

Teams are in for this evenings game at Fleetwood Town Poolfoot Farm in the Dome.

While our two potential shirt sponsors are thrashing out terms and conditions for the 2026/27 season, we dedicate our team names to them, so tonight we see The Sweet Drop in white bibs take on Spotless Property Developments LTD in the pink bibs.

THE FINAL NIGHT OF METEOROLOGICAL SUMMER

A few heavy touches after a heavy Bank Holiday weekend, Jerry Yates has come home and Pool sit top of the league. Not a bad way to see out the summer in Blackpool!

Another good group of lads down tonight for an hour of football, a laugh and a catch up.

Tomorrow marks the start of meteorological autumn. The nights start drawing in, the weather turns and it becomes a lot easier to get home from work, shut the door and stay there.

For some lads, that can quickly turn into spending more and more time on your own. The darker months can be difficult, particularly for anyone struggling with loneliness, isolation or Seasonal Affective Disorder.

That’s one of the reasons these sessions matter.

Nothing complicated. Get out of the house, kick a ball about, take the p**s out of your mate’s first touch and spend an hour around other people.

We’ll be doing exactly the same through autumn and winter.

Summer done. Strong carries on.

Any photographers or videographers available this Thursday evening between 7:45pm and 9:15pm?

We’re looking for someone to come down to Strong and capture some stock footage and photography of our session in the Dome.

The footage will be used as part of future content around Blackpool’s City of Culture 2029 journey, showcasing grassroots community activity, social inclusion and what’s happening away from the usual tourist side of Blackpool.

Nothing overly staged. We’re after natural footage of the session, the lads, the environment and what Strong looks like on a normal night.

We’re delighted to confirm that Jez Williamson will be staying on as Strong FC Social Inclusion manager for one more season.

After two highly successful years in charge, Jez has helped shape exactly what Strong is supposed to be about. He embodies mental health, social inclusion and positive energy, and that comes through in the way he leads the squad and the environment he creates around the team.

The results have been brilliant, but just as important has been the squad culture. A group where lads feel welcome, included, backed and able to enjoy their football.

That continuity is huge for us.

Joining Jez this season will be Nathan Calland-Storey and Joe Clarke, who are stepping into Assistant Manager roles and will work closely alongside him over the next 12 months. Both will be involved across Strong, including helping to run our Social Inclusion team and learning everything that goes on behind the scenes.

The aim is to keep building on what Jez has created, keep those squad vibes strong and keep moving the whole community forward.

Two brilliant years behind us. One more season with Jez at the helm.

THURSDAY NIGHT AT THE DOME IS LIVE!!

Next Thursday, Strong returns to The Dome at Poolfoot Farm for the first time in almost three years.

This is where Strong was born, so it feels good to be heading back.
