Sunday 13th Match Report

EAGLES vs Darwen Lionesses

A great match up this weekend saw us host local rivals Darwen Lionesses and the game as usual did not disappoint!!

All players on the pitch for both sides gave 100% and it made for an excellent watch.

A top performance from the Eagles girls who continue to grow and improve week in week out.

A special mention must go to Delanie who had a fantastic game on the right wing, getting herself a goal and creating numerous chances time after time!!

Darwen Tournament finalist runners up 🏅

What a day for our Blackburn Eagles U9 Girls!

The girls were outstanding from start to finish, showing incredible determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout the tournament. Match after match, they played with confidence and heart, earning their place in a well-deserved final.

The final itself was a fantastic contest that couldn’t separate the two teams, with everything eventually coming down to a penalty shootout. Although it wasn’t our day, finishing as runners-up after such an incredible effort is something every player should be immensely proud of.

A special mention has to go to our goalkeeper, who was simply outstanding throughout the tournament. Time and time again, she produced fantastic saves that kept us in games and gave the team the confidence to keep pushing forward. She was exceptional when it mattered most.

That said, this achievement belonged to the whole squad. Every single player played their part—whether scoring goals, making crucial tackles, creating chances, defending bravely, or encouraging their teammates. Their commitment, work rate, and togetherness were there for everyone to see.

As coach, I couldn’t be prouder of the girls. They represented Blackburn Eagles with pride, showed great sportsmanship, and never stopped believing in themselves.

Thank you to all the parents, families, and supporters who cheered the girls on throughout the day. Your encouragement meant the world to them.

Runners-up on the day, but winners in effort, attitude, and team spirit. Well done, Eagles—we’re incredibly proud of you! 🦅⚽💙

🏆 Tournament Report – Blackburn Eagles U9 Girls 🦅

After a tough morning battling the wind and rain, the girls showed incredible determination and teamwork to progress through to the Silver Cup Final against Clitheroe Wolves.

The final was a hard-fought contest, with both teams giving everything. After an excellent game, it came down to penalties, where unfortunately we were narrowly beaten.

Despite the result, every single player should be proud of their efforts today. The resilience, attitude, and commitment shown throughout the tournament were outstanding.

A huge well done to all the girls – you represented Blackburn Eagles brilliantly and should be proud of what you achieved.

This weekend it’s our clubs turn to play host to the Girls teams with tournaments both Saturday and Sunday up at Blacksnape Playing Fields. My girls will be looking at keeping the momentum going in this Saturdays U9’s tournament. 🏆 CONFERENCE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 🏆

A massive well done to our U9 girls this weekend 👏⚽️

Blackburn Eagles U9 Girls were crowned Conference League champions after a fantastic day at Fulledge, overcoming local rivals Darwen Girls in a dramatic final decided on penalties 🏆

After a hard-fought and closely contested game, the girls held their nerve in the shootout to secure a deserved victory and bring home the silverware. Both teams gave everything in a brilliant final, but the Eagles showed incredible determination, teamwork and composure when it mattered most 💜🦅

Every single player played their part throughout the tournament and final, putting in fantastic performances from start to finish. This trophy is a reward for all the hard work, commitment and dedication the girls have shown week in, week out throughout the season 👏

A huge congratulations to all of the players, coaches and supporters — fully deserved winners and Conference League champions! 🏆⚽️

Today’s match report

LAST GAME OF THE SEASON

Bolton Town Armadillos vs Blackburn Eagles

This morning we played the game with just 6 players. No goalkeeper, one defender and missing our speedy winger. Despite going into the game looking like we might struggle, we did the total opposite!

Aria (welcome back!) played the first half in goal and had very little to do as Ellie-Mai and Norah was absolutely terrific in defence 🪨 🪨

The hard work from Harper, willow and Mia didn’t go unnoticed in their defensive work either as they tracked back and won the ball on multiple occasions with Ellie-Mai pushing up with the team when we had possession.

The football was a great watch as the girls passed the ball around brilliantly and went into half time with a comfortable lead.

The second half started with Mia going in goal and Aria going into the midfield position. Another solid half from everyone and a superb goal from Ellie-Mai assisted by Harper from the short corner was the icing on the cake today 🔥.

Eagles vs Lancs Spitfires

A great game of football up at Blacksnape yesterday!! Some brilliant football on display from both sides made for an entertaining match.

As always Eagles played the ball around brilliantly, showcasing yet again the results of the hard work they put in week in, week out at training.

Overall a good performance from the girls today!!
