And with Holly moving on to new pastures, our coach James is also taking a step back from coaching the girls.

A huge thank you, James, for all your time, dedication and support over the years. We really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into getting to know each of the girls — understanding their individual strengths, personalities and what makes them tick.

You’ve always strived to get the very best out of each girl, while also bringing the best out of the team as a whole. Your support, encouragement and commitment have been hugely appreciated by both the girls and the parents.

We’re sure that, in true James style, this won’t be a complete goodbye… we’ll still be seeing you bright and early every Sunday morning! 😂⚽️

Match Report ⚽️

A really positive performance from the girls today, especially considering the disappointment of last week’s result. The biggest thing for us this week was seeing how they responded — and they showed great character, worked their socks off and battled right until the end. 👏

There were mistakes today, and a few of them ultimately cost us, but that’s all part of development. We learn, we grow and we keep working.

There were some brilliant moments in possession, with the girls looking to play through the lines and create opportunities. At times, though, we’re still forcing the football and becoming a little predictable, choosing the same route when there are other options available.

That’s something we’ll continue to work on in training. The aim is to keep developing their awareness, decision-making and confidence to recognise the options around them. 👌

We were missing our wee Keeper Sarah again today as she continues to get some well-needed rest while recovering from injury. Morgana stepped in between the sticks and absolutely bossed it! 💪

Well done to all our little ladies today. They battled, showed resilience and, in my opinion, played some of the better football on the pitch.

Most importantly, they showed a great response to last week’s loss — and that’s exactly what development is about.

We keep pushing. We keep learning. We keep developing. ❤️⚽️

The girls have been very lucky to be selected to receive financial support from the SPOA Youth Sports Sponsorship programme in 2026! 🖤⚽️

This will provide the girls with some winter training kit and some new training equipment

A tough game for the girls today against a strong and physical Tranent FC side, but there was so much to be proud of from our wee warriors! 💪💜

The football we played today didn’t show us at our best (we blame the weather 👀😂). The girls showed great confidence on the ball, worked hard for each other and more than matched Tranent in terms of ability. 👏

Today was also a great opportunity for the girls to try different positions and challenge themselves outside their usual comfort zones. It’s all part of their development, learning new roles, understanding the game from different areas of the pitch and becoming more well-rounded players. ⚽️

A special mention to Evie, who stepped in between the sticks today and did the team proud! 🧤👏 With our usual number 1 Sarah getting a well-deserved break, Evie took on the challenge brilliantly.

There were plenty of positives to take from today, and while the result didn’t go our way, the girls can hold their heads

Sunday Morning league restart and what a day for it ☀️☀️

Brilliant performance from the girls today! 👏

Up against a strong and physical Murie side, the team showed fantastic character, resilience and a real desire to compete from the first whistle.

There was some excellent build-up play, positive creativity and an unbelievable commitment to winning the ball back. 🙌 It was great to see the girls taking the initiative and trusting themselves to play with confidence.

Defensively, there were some really strong moments too. The girls showed composure under pressure and trusted Sarah our safe hands between the sticks at the back to help us play out with controlled passes and good decision-making. It can be a little scary to watch at times 😂, but this is exactly the kind of development we want to encourage. Learning to stay calm, trust each other and play through pressure will only make the girls stronger as a team.

Most importantly, there were so many positives to take from today, both in the performance and in the individual development of the girls.

Outstanding effort from everyone today. Lots to be proud of and plenty to build on! 💪⚽️

League games resume tomorrow as the girls kickoff the 2nd half of their season. 2nd game in a week against Murie Whites who provided a tough test last Sunday.
