We're continuring to celebrate the amazing LGBTQ+ foster carers who are making a difference to children's lives every day🏳️‍🌈

Neil and Steve began their fostering journey with Lancashire County Council in 2024 after years of thinking about it. Now, they are providing a loving and stable home for a young girl and say fostering has changed their lives for the better.

"We half expected to be turned down as we are two blokes of a certain age wanting to foster, but we were accepted"💛

Their story shows that foster carers come from all walks of life, and what matters most is having the commitment, patience and compassion to support a child who needs you.

From kinship care to fostering and becoming Mockingbird Hub Carers, their journey shows the difference that love, stability and community can make in a child's life.

Last weekend, we had a fantastic day at Blackpool Pride alongside the fostering team from Blackpool Council 🌈

It was great to be part of such a vibrant celebration of diversity, inclusion, and community spirit. The atmosphere throughout the day was amazing, with colourful performances, entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to come together and celebrate what makes our communities unique.

All our local councils believe every child deserves to grow up in a home where they feel valued, accepted, and supported. Events like Blackpool Pride are a wonderful reminder of the importance of creating inclusive communities where everyone can thrive🥰
