It was the last session of the season and, as always, there was some great football on display.

Day 2 of football and today our ladies headed to Birmingham for the end of season showcase as we prepare to join their league next season.

We played 8 games, finishing with 3 wins and 5 draws, all of the draws ending 0-0. We didn’t lose a single game or concede a single goal all day.

We finished joint top of our final group, narrowly missing out on goal difference.

We came up against some great teams and played some fantastic football. Every single player was amazing today and absolutely on fire. So proud of them all! ⚽🔥

A special thank you to Kerry, who was our captain today and did a fantastic job. She chose Netty as her player of the day for making some great saves and not conceding all day. 👏

Today both the Whites and Blues took part in a mini tournament as the league invited a couple of new teams along. It was a challenge for both sides, but there was some fantastic football played throughout, and in true Blaby and Whetstone style, everyone came off with a smile.

We’d also like to say how lovely it was to meet Northants Falcons – such a great group of ladies.

A huge thank you to Fi for captaining the Whites (and even providing the half-time oranges!). She chose Faye as her Player of the Day for some brilliant defensive work.

Thank you as well to Claire for captaining the Blues. She chose Kirsten as her Player of the Day for her excellent defensive work and for really putting her body on the line.

We are proud to confirm that our Ladies team will be taking part in Birmingham’s End of Season Showcase as they continue their preparations ahead of joining the league next season.

This is an exciting step forward for the squad, providing a great opportunity to test themselves and build momentum for what promises to be a big campaign ahead.
