Sunday saw the final curtain drawn on a fantastic season for Inter, with presentation of the annual awards, a celebration of the team’s successes, and a tear or two shed for the end of an era.

Josh Halliday won top goal scorer for the fifth consecutive year, and Corey McNab won both POTY and PPOTY. Congratulations to you both 👏

We would like to thank all the players who’ve turned out for us over the years, and wish them all the best in their footballing journeys. We look forward to watching your future endeavours.

A further thank you to all the coaches, sponsors, and families & friends who were part of the journey with the boys, you all contributed to the development of the team.

And with that, Rossvale Inter 2007 bow out of youth football…over and out!

Inter won 5-4 on penalties

Today Inter finish their journey through youth football, winning the finest of trebles, the CSFA ‘A’ League, Scottish Youth FA Cup, and Central Regional Cup 🏆🏆🏆

Inter have played some great football throughout a long long season, and possibly due to the number of games played and the late timing of the final being weeks after the last competitive game, those normal standards weren’t met today, but the boys dug in and got the win.

Sauchie took the lead halfway through the first half with a great solo drive from their own half with a good finish from the edge of the box, and led 1-0 at halftime.

Just after the restart Inter upped the pace and won a series of corners, from one of which McNab rose to score with a header from a couple of yards out from Tennant’s dangerous inswinging delivery.

Inter kept pushing for another and 5 minutes later took the lead from another set piece, Watchorns inswinging free kick from wide right finding Swansons front post run and header.

The game looked comfortable with Inter looking more likely to score again, but the pendulum swung Sauchies way and after a short period of pressure in Inter’s half, they won and converted a penalty to make it 2-2 with 15 minutes left.

Neither team could get the winner and the game went to penalties, with both teams missing one and Skivington saving one, leaving Nicholas, the calmest person in the stadium, to step up and score the winning spot kick. Queue the celebrations!

Commiserations to Sauchie, they’ve had a great year making multiple cup finals and coming close in their league, and we know the feeling of defeat in finals well. We wish them all the best in their footballing journeys.

And as for our boys, what a season. They’ve stepped on from being perennial league and cup final runners up, to winning the league consecutively, and this year backing it up with the two biggest cup trophies they can play for, the Scottish and Regional. Some of you have been here since fun fours, others joining through 7’s, 9’s, and 11’s, with the final ingredients joining in the last two seasons. We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.

League trophy ‘presentation day’ today at Glasgow Club Milton. Congratulations boys!

To win the CSFA 2007 ‘A’ Division two years running is a fantastic achievement. To win it both years unbeaten with several games to go speaks volumes for the effort and attitude displayed by each and every one of you throughout the season, not to mention the strength in depth throughout the whole squad. To have the desire to work hard, learn and improve, each and every night at training, no matter the weather, isn’t easy, but that’s what breeds success.

Big thanks to Stevie McCandlish and Ian Grey, Rossvale Chairman and President, for coming along to present the trophy and medals. And a special thanks to the other special guest who loves getting their photo taken, the big yin, the Scottish Cup 🤩
