Sheldon Marlborough Darts

The members of Sheldon Marlborough Cricket Club resurrected their darts team in 2011 after a break of about a decade. The team originally had played in the Sheldon & District league on a Thursday evening in the early years of the new millenium. The team was formed from the members of the Heartlands Hospital Social Club when the members from Heartlands moved to Sheldon Marlborough as well as a few

exisiting club cricket members. Ray Robinson, sadly deceased was an integral part of the original team a decade or more ago & we hold a fun & entertaining Memorial darts Night to honour his memory annually every May with the winner receiving the trophy that bears his name. In 2011 we started playing darts again & joined the Small Heath Darts League on a Tuesday evening. In the summer of 2014 we formed a Thursday night team and joined the Sheldon & District League, ensuring darts were played two nights a week. We left the Small heath League after the end of their winter 2014-2015 season having joined many a good night and made some great friends in this league. We then joined the Forest of Arden Darts summer & winter Leagues on Tuesday nights & the Sheldon & District Darts League on Thursday nights in the winter & summer leagues. We previously had two teams in each - Sheldon Marlborough Flights & Sheldon Marlborough Arrows. In the last year or so we have evolved again & whilst we play on a Thursday still as a single team in longer play as a team on a Tuesday in any league. Instead, on most Tuesday's at Sheldon Marlborough our members play darts within our own competitive individual player league. We also have individual player cup knock-outs on Tuesdays as part of this format. We also try and have darts events on Saturday evenings on a fairly regular basis throughout year & also on some bank holiday Mondays. We also try to encourage people to get involved and give darts a go, and make it as enjoyable as possible !
