While it may have been written about cave diving quite a few years ago, this book is still as relevant today as it's ever been to any diver.
I'd very much recommend giving it a read.

The made Sheck 's 'Basic : A Blueprint for Survival' available for free, for all to download.

It is not the prettiest publication that you will ever read, but if you cave dive, and you take notice of Exley's Blueprint, it will certainly help keep you alive.

Sheck Exley’s ten recommenda­tions for are as relevant today as the day that Sheck wrote them.

This is the long awaited Presentation of our 'Raising The Highball' Day this Sunday 24 October to be held here at the Museum.
This remarkable artifact, now for all to see is exhibited in our famous DH98 Mosquito Hangar.
See it, hear all about it and watch the process of it being raised from Loch Striven in Scotland.
A free exhibition to our Museum visitors, including an interactive talk, models and to meet the East Cheshire Sub Aqua Group representatives that brought it to the surface with our own Mosquito Restoration Team members telling their valuable post-preservation story.

Exciting news, and looking forward to continued development of the RedBare. Not that it needs it mind!

VMS has officialy been acquired by NAMMU TECH

We are delighted that Ty Draper will be continuing on with Nammu Tech making sure the support, sevicing and upgrading for all current redbare and sentinel divers is maintained.

We will continue to work closely with Martin Stanton on the development of electronics and software.

We will also continue to use Vobster Quay Inland Diving Centre as our primary base for testing and diving.

Watch this space for all future updates and news, we are very excited for what’s next !

Having a bit of a clear out this morning and found a box of manuals. These were all from my own training in the late 90s and early 2000s.

It's been a bit busy recently.

Firstly well done to Jon for completing his Iantd UK Open Water Sidemount Diver course in some quite challenging conditions. We were really impressed with how both Jon and his equipment configuation came together in the two days. Probably mostly due to his choice of equipment though (Xdeep and Apeks, a classic combination).

Second up it's well done to Ian for an excellent start to his IANTD Tek Sidemount and Advanced EANx Diver combined course. Another weekend to go and some theory sessions too.

Third up it's Andrew who did exceptionally well on his IANTD CCR Advanced EANx Diver course on his VMS - Vobster Marine Systems RedBare. 5 days of theory and diving done, with just one dive left to complete. Great to see past student Bryan joining us for a skills refresh too. Bryan was lucky enough to get his training in just before the latest round of lockdowns kicked in last year.

Thankfully my drysuit zip waited until the last dive before giving up. It's 5 years old so I can't complain. A close inspection revealed just this little bit of damage to the outer part of the zip. Guessing it was still enough to cause the ingress of freezing water all the way through the dive. We still managed 50mins which was more than enough in min. 5 deg C.
