What an achievement for our Billericay Blues! 💪⚽

With an incredible 4 wins from 4, the ladies have successfully won the South-East & East Regional Round of The FA Walking Football Cup 2026 and secured their place at St George’s Park!

A fantastic performance from start to finish, and a thoroughly deserved reward for all the hard work, commitment and dedication that has gone into this journey.

We're looking for an enthusiastic coach to join our growing Women's Walking Football team.

Previous football coaching experience is preferred, but it's not essential. If you're a current player, former player, or simply someone with a passion for football who's looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to:

Help develop a friendly and inclusive team
Share your knowledge and experience
Make a real difference to women's football in the local community

The trophies didn't stop there...

As if securing two league titles wasn't enough, we're incredibly proud to announce that Billericay Town Women's Walking Football Club claimed three of the four individual honours available in the newly introduced EWWFL Golden Glove and Golden Boot awards for the 2026 season! 👏

🧤 Premier League Golden Glove – Tanya Chamberlin
🧤 Championship Golden Glove – Lisa Hart
⚽ Championship Golden Boot (Joint Winner) – Rachel Grayson

To have three players recognised for their outstanding individual performances is a testament not only to their talent and dedication but also to the fantastic teammates around them who have contributed to such a successful season.

Tanya and Lisa have been outstanding between the posts all season, producing countless crucial saves, while Rachel's goals have played a huge part in our success throughout the campaign.

Congratulations, ladies, on your well-deserved awards. We are incredibly proud of your individual achievements and delighted to see your efforts recognised as we bring a fantastic season to a close.

🏆 HAVE YOU HEARD YET? BILLERICAY ARE DOUBLE CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Our Blues began the day knowing that a strong performance would secure the South Street Premier League title. They didn't disappoint, producing another excellent display to cap off a fantastic season and become EWWFL Premier League Champions 2026 – the first league title in the team's history! 🏆👏

Meanwhile, our Whites faced a nervy finale in the Heal Sole Championship. Starting the day with a narrow two-point advantage, every goal and every point mattered. After a dramatic conclusion, the Whites finished level on points with Harlow Town Blues, with the title ultimately being decided on goal difference. We are delighted to say that the Whites held their nerve to become Heal Sole Championship Champions 2026! 🏆👏

To have both our teams crowned champions on the same day is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by every player throughout the season.

In their very first season in the EWWFL, our Reds have exceeded every expectation placed before them. Finishing in an impressive 4th place, they have shown tremendous growth, determination and team spirit throughout the campaign.

Reds, you've surpassed every goal that was set at the start of the season. Watching you come off the pitch smiling, regardless of the result, has been one of the highlights of the year. The bond you've built as a team is infectious, and the support you show one another embodies everything that Billericay Town Women's Walking Football Club stands for. Congratulations on a fantastic debut season. The future is bright, and we can't wait to see what you achieve next.

🏆 The FA Walking Cup 2026

Taking part in the official national walking football cup competition, organised by The FA, is always a prestigious occasion. After reaching the final at St George's Park in 2025, we were determined to have another crack at it.

This year we entered two teams: an experienced Over 40s squad and an Over 50s side made up of a fantastic mix of experienced and new players.

Our Over 50s competed in a tournament against established Over 40s teams from the current league. They battled brilliantly throughout the morning, earning a well-deserved draw alongside some respectable defeats in a highly competitive group. However, none of those results counted towards qualification. After six games in the heat, it all came down to one winner-takes-all match against Southend. A superb strike from Fleur (who only seems to score worldies!) earned us a 1-1 draw and sent the game to penalties. It was a cruel way to bow out, and we narrowly missed out on a place in the regional finals. Every player should be incredibly proud of their efforts today.

Our Over 40s progressed all the way to the final where, in a repeat of the EWWFL Cup Final, they faced the in-form Beacon Hill. After a tense 0-0 draw, the match also went to penalties. With some spot kicks that Harry Kane would have been proud of, it all came down to the final penalty. Up stepped Tanya, who produced a fantastic save to seal the victory!

The road to St George's Park is still alive... 💙⚽

A huge congratulations to both teams on a brilliant day of football.

Finally, thank you to everyone who came along to support us, especially our Billericay squad and the gents who made the journey to cheer us on. Your support means everything. Thank you to County FA and the refs for a great morning of football!

🔴 About Us:

Billericay Reds Women’s Walking Football Team are just about to complete our first season in the Essex Women's Walking Football League (EWWFL) Championship Division. We've built a fantastic team spirit, gained valuable experience, and are now looking to take the next step as we prepare for the new season.

📣 We're Looking For:

An enthusiastic and motivated Coach to help develop our team, improve our tactics and match play, and support our players as we continue to grow and compete in the Championship Division.

📌 The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

⚽ Experience coaching, walking football or small-sided/community football teams
🧠 Good knowledge of walking football rules, techniques, and coaching methods
📈 The ability to plan and deliver engaging training sessions for a range of abilities
👥 Excellent communication and team-building skills
💪 A positive, encouraging approach with a passion for developing players and building confidence

EWWFL Cup & Plate Finals Day 2026

The EWWFL Cup & Plate Finals Day was played in scorching conditions at Great Baddow, with players, officials and supporters all battling the heat throughout an action-packed day of football.

Our Blues side enjoyed another strong tournament, finishing second in their group to secure a place in the semi-finals. After a hard-fought contest, they were narrowly beaten on penalties by an in-form Beacon Hill side, who went on to lift the Cup later in the day. Congratulations to Beacon Hill Women's Red on becoming the 2026 EWWFL Cup champions.

For the Reds, the group stage seedings provided some tough tests and new challenges in their debut season. Despite facing strong opposition throughout the day, they competed brilliantly and reached the quarter-finals, where they eventually lost out to Premiership side Valley Green. The Reds have been a fantastic addition to the club this season, and their team spirit, togetherness and commitment truly represent everything Billericay Town Women is about. There were some impressive performances and plenty of positive football on display.

The Whites experienced a mixed group stage campaign in the intense heat but showed great resilience to earn a place in the Plate competition. They progressed through the quarter-finals before an incredibly tense semi-final which was decided by penalties. Goalkeeper Lisa produced several crucial saves during the shootout, while Julia confidently converted her penalty to send the Whites into the final against Valley Green.

The final saw a composed and professional performance from the Whites. Two goals from the in-form Rachel secured victory and ensured the EWWFL Plate trophy would be returning home once again. The win also made the Whites back-to-back Plate champions – a fantastic achievement for the team.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of the supporters who came along to cheer the teams on, the referees who officiated throughout the day, the EWWFL organisers, and everyone who helped make the event such a success despite the challenging temperatures.

We now look ahead to the final matchday of the season and can't wait to finish another fantastic EWWFL campaign on a high.
