Surf Academy 4.0 — ramp update 🛹🌊

It’s starting to take shape!

A massive thank you to Westcountry Maintenance Services (WMS) and RGB for getting behind the project. Their help sourcing the right materials at the best possible price, alongside all their support along the way, has genuinely helped make this possible.

And a huge shoutout to , who are currently building what is going to be one seriously rad and innovative surfskate ramp.

Watching all those bowl transitions come together is pretty mind-blowing, we can’t even begin to comprehend the maths and expertise going into it! 😂

Still plenty to do, but the progress is awesome and we cannot wait to see the finished result.

SURF ACADEMY 4.0 🛠️🌊

Still riding high after being named UK Surf School of the Year 2026 🏆… but we haven’t exactly spent the summer sitting still!

We’ve been working flat out on Surf Academy 4.0, completely stripping back and rebuilding our indoor space to create something even better for our young surfers. and putting the effort to make this project happen!

And right now, are building a dedicated indoor surfskate ramp right in the heart of it. 🛹🌊

Lots still happening behind the scenes, but we genuinely can’t wait for the students to walk through the doors in September and see what we’ve been up to.

UK Surf School of the Year 2026. 🏆🌊 The Wavelength UK Surfer Awards

What an incredible evening.

To be finalists in four categories was already something we were immensely proud of. Seeing .williams , Willow Craxton 🌸 , Charlie Unsworth (Arlo) and the Surf Academy recognised alongside so many inspiring people from across UK surfing made the journey worthwhile.

To then hear Kingsley Surf Academy announced as WAVELENGTH UK Surf School of the Year 2026 was a moment we’ll never forget.

The best part was sharing it together. Lily, Willow and Murphy representing our students, Charlie and I representing the coaching team, and Mr Pavis delivering a brilliant speech on behalf of the school.

This award belongs to every student, parent, member of staff, coach and partner who has believed in what we’re building.

The Surf Academy is evolving at an incredible pace, and this recognition gives us even more motivation to keep creating opportunities for our students during the school day and for our wider community after school and at weekends.

Thank you to Wavelength UK Surfer Awards, your votes, and everyone who has supported us along the way.

Here’s to the next chapter. 🤙

What a day for our Y3 & Y4 surfers 🌊

With the conditions on offer, we swapped the surfboards for bodyboards and spent the session bodysurfing, bodyboarding and enjoying some fun double-ups.

Halfway through, we went from sunshine to horizontal rain and hail for five minutes… then straight back to sunshine. Was awesome to witness!

Loads of smiles, loads of resilience, and an awesome session all round 🤙

A brilliant visit to .ocean 🌊

While part of the Development Squad headed into the onshore surf, another group spent the morning discovering one of the UK’s coolest surf shops.

Sustainability, craftsmanship and proper surf culture at its best.

And those fin pockets… absolutely class 🤙

What an awesome water confidence session with our Y3–6 weekly group today 🌊

We learned all about double ups… and, more importantly, how much fun they are to bodysurf!

So good to see the students spending time in the water, building confidence, having a laugh and making the most of the waves.

We’re incredibly fortunate to spend our days watching students make memories, grow in confidence and have the best time in the water.

Years from now, they probably won’t remember every lesson, but they’ll remember days like these.

New boards in. Action stations! 🌊

We’ve just received a fresh batch of boards and it’s all hands on deck to get them ready for the final half term.

Having the right equipment matters. As our students progress, it’s important that they get to experience different boards, different setups and understand how equipment can influence performance and feel in the water.

The latest models fitted with FCS II systems will give students the opportunity to experiment with different and start understanding those finer details that make a difference.

We’re incredibly lucky to work with great partners such as and hugely grateful to Brad for always looking after the Surf Academy.

Now to get them waxed up and in the water 🤙

On the way to the pump track, we stopped by to check out the new shop 🌊

What a space.

Honestly one of the coolest surf shops we’ve ever been in. The kids absolutely loved it and we can already tell we’re going to spend a lot more time there.

Places like this matter. For young surfers, being able to spend time in a proper surf shop, look at boards, wetsuits, magazines, talk surfing and just soak up the culture… that’s a big part of it all.

Huge respect to the team at Surfed Out for creating such a welcoming hangout space for the surf community 🤙
