Heads up for any members with memories from ‘back in the day’. Tomorrow (Monday 30th April) I will be representing the club at the funeral of Bob Smoothy. 11:45am at Eltham Crematorium. His son, Colin, is a good friend of mine and also remembers hanging out at Martin Dene LTC. RIP

Don’t forget we have tennis all afternoon on Sunday 6th July 2025. Our 90th Anniversary coincides with the Sophia Thomas Tennis Academy anniversary and both organisations will be celebrating all afternoon at Martin Dene Lawn Tennis Club on Sunday. Amazing prizes from Babalot, BBQ, Bar and anything else beginning with B that we can think of! 12noon onwards - be there.

Very excited to be attending the LTA Awards tonight. Martin Dene Tennis Club and Head Coach Sophia Thomas are nominated for two awards. Fingers crossed.

As we get ready to welcome 2024 I wanted to thank all the volunteers for helping to run the club so successfully this past year and to wish every success to the team players representing the club in the North Kent and Kent leagues.

A special mention also goes out to all those (young and old) who attend our coaching and social play sessions week in, week out and often in the rain, wind and cold!

The club will be open from 1pm on New Year’s Day for social play and drinks in the bar. All members (adult and junior) are very welcome and do feel free to bring a friend (no visitor fees).

Very sad to report the passing of Keith Wallace, a long term member of the club. Keith was a stalwart of the teams and member of the committee for many years. Details of the funeral arrangements are attached. Our thoughts are with John (our current treasurer) and the rest of the family.

SUMMER CAMP:
We have just opened bookings for the summer camp 2023.
Here are the details:

Monday - Friday
9am - 3pm
Ages 4 - 16

£110 for the week (discount available)
£30 per day

Children will need to bring a packed lunch, snack, and water bottle.

We open the bar during lunchtime selling crisps, KitKat, or ice cream all for £1 each. We ask that payment for this is coins on the day.
