What an incredible weekend for our Gendai no Shinka Ju Jitsu Competition Squad 👊🔥

Massive congratulations to every single member of the team who represented the club with pride, discipline, respect and heart throughout the entire event. From our youngest Little Samurai squad members stepping onto the mats for the very first time, through to our experienced juniors and adults, the effort, courage and team spirit shown was outstanding 🙌

What an incredible day for our squad at the Southend International on Saturday!

Our Little Samurai Squad had huge success throughout the competition, with our youngest squad members aged from 8 to 10 years old showing amazing courage, determination, and confidence on the mats. It was fantastic to see so many first-timers stepping up and reaching the podium — a huge achievement for them all.

Our junior class students, aged 11 to 17, were equally outstanding throughout the day, producing some brilliant performances and representing the club with pride, discipline, and team spirit.

We also had a number of our adult squad members competing, and they were absolutely fantastic as well, showing great skill and commitment across their categories.

We are incredibly proud of every single member of the squad. Whether they won a medal, competed for the first time, or simply stepped onto the mat and gave their best, every person contributed to an amazing day for the club.

A very special thank you goes to Senpei Emily, who has done a fantastic job coaching and leading the Little Samurai Squad. She was a brilliant support to all the younger members throughout the day and also led by example by winning Gold herself in Random Attacks — a true role model for the squad.

We also want to give a huge thank you to Senpei Katie for the incredible job she does running and organising the overall squad. As always, she was everywhere on Saturday making sure everyone knew where they needed to be, keeping things running smoothly, supporting competitors, and helping everyone feel calm, confident, and prepared to give their best performance.

Thank you as well to all the parents, supporters, and coaches who continue to give so much time and encouragement to the squad.

A day to be proud of for everyone involved. 💪🥋👏
