History made! 🏐✨
Yesterday, OBA 1 made their very first trip to Canterbury for the Senior Kent County Play-Offs! The ladies faced a grueling round-robin against 5 tough teams, including two fighting for their lives to stay in the league.
The battle on court was real, and the ladies gave it absolutely everything:

🤝 Vs Falcons: 16-16 (A nail-biter!)
💔 Vs Comets: 18-19
❌ Vs Chislehurst: 10-20
🔥 Vs J&L: 31-13 (What a win!)
💔 Vs Telstars: 17-20

It was an incredibly physical, competitive day of netball. While the current league teams managed to hold their ground and keep their spots, this was invaluable experience for our squad. Now we know exactly what it takes, and we’ll be back stronger next year! 👊
Massive shoutout to every single player. They left it all on the court and did the club incredibly proud 💜

No team photo, but yesterday, OBA 1/2 played in a tight game against Eclipse 1. The first half saw both teams go toe to toe on each centre pass. Unfortunately, Eclipse stepped up their game in the third quarter, building on their lead. Despite a better final quarter for OBA, the ladies could quite do enough to catch back up. Final score 24-33 Pom:

OBA 3/4 were due to play against Club Langley tonight, but the opposition cancelled the game, meaning OBA take the points. Safe from the storm! ⛈️

Lots of Netball, tons of fun, and plenty of sunshine!
On Sunday, some of our OBA ladies (plus a few amazing guest players!) headed to Swanley for a Netball Rally in memory of Joy, raising funds for a fantastic cause:
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support and play! A special shoutout to our youngest (and definitely coolest) supporter who kept it incredibly chilled the entire day!
It was a well run event for a wonderful cause.

On Thursday, both teams took to Swanley for their next round of matches.

No team photo from OBA 1/2 who were up against Blackheath, with a stellar effort from the whole team. The ladies managed to keep the lead the whole way through. Final score 32-20 Pom:

Next, OBA 3/4 had a blinder of a game against Chislehurst 2. New players are settling in well to the team, and the ladies managed to lead by 4 going into the second quarter. Chislehurst managed to win the second quarter, which meant the ladies had to turn it up a gear. They did so successfully, with a final score of 39-28 Pom:

Last Monday OBA 1/2 had a low scoring game against Priory. The game was very close throughout, which the ladies thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately they were unable to secure the win. Final score 19-22 Pom:

On the Tuesday, OBA 3/4 had a tough game against a young and spritely Beacons side. The ladies unfortunately got off to a slow start, which proved to be detrimental. Different combinations were attempted, which helped OBA to improve and settle as the game went on. Final score 17-39 Pom:

Playing catch up on results!
On 14th May, OBA 3/4 battled hard in a game against Aqua. The ladies came out fighting strong, taking a 5 goal lead after the first quarter. Even with several position changes, the ladies kept going and kept the lead. Final score 37-34 Pom:

No rest for the wicked. This week, we went straight into the NWK summer season.
OBA 1/2 kicked us off on Monday against a young and strong Beacons 1 side. It was an incredibly physical game which was always going to be tough, but the ladies held their own. No matter the gap, everyone kept working hard until the last whistle. Final score 20-48 Pom:

On Tuesday, OBA 3/4 were up against another very young Eclipse 3 side. The ladies experience became apparent, taking a strong lead from the start. Even though some players were out of position, due to a defence-heavy team, they didn’t let that impact them. Final score 44-23 Pom:

Another fixture roundup for you, and last weekend saw OBA 1, 2 & 3 played in their final games of the season.

OBA 1 started us off, in a corker of a match against Eclipse Royal. The ladies went into the game with a positive attitude, although knowing it was all going to come down to the wire to see whether they’d managed to stay up. Every player gave 100% energy throughout, keeping the lead until the final whistle. Final score 49-38 Pom:
Unfortunately, the goal difference gods were not on their side and although securing the win, the ladies go down to division 3 for next season but they’ll be taking it by storm and fighting to bounce straight back up again!

OBA 2 were up next, against Wealden 4. The ladies put up a good fight against a top team. Defence was incredible throughout and there was some excellent shooting. Unfortunately, the game ended in a loss with a final score of 40-47 Pom: but the ladies secured their spot again in division 5 next season.

OBA 3 finished off the day, in a game against CFX. OBA got off to a strong start, with some excellent play throughout the court for the whole game. Unfortunately, they were however, unable to hold the lead, but they did come back fighting in the final quarter, to keep their place in division 6 for next season. Final score 36-40 Pom:

Last night saw both teams play in their first Swanley game of the summer season.
OBA 1/2 played against Hornets 1 in what turned out to be a cracking game for every player. The ladies came out with a bang, securing an impressive lead from the start. Play was rushed at points, but loose balls were picked up and if the ball was lost, each player worked their socks off to stop the ball from working its way back to their attack again. A great start to the season. Final score 39-16 Pom:

OBA 3/4 moved up a division going into this season so some tough games are ahead. This was displayed in their hard fight against White Lotus. The opposition were a good team but the ladies kept fighting back, unfortunately not being able to quite catch them. There was a cracking debut from and OBA are confident they will only get stronger as a team as the season goes on. Final score 35-46 Pom:

Another weekend roundup for you:
OBA 1 took to the court bright and early in a well contested game against Eclipse Sapphire. Knowing they needed to come away with a win, OBA got their engines going immediately, winning the first quarter by 5 goals. Defence worked their socks off to get those interceptions, while attack capitalised and converted as many as possible. Centre court were also on fire, picking up loose balls and working it up to attack calmly and patiently. It was a great game from both teams, but the ladies kept the lead throughout, with a final score of 46-42 Pom:

OBA 3 were up next against Hornets 3 in a tough game in the high heat. OBA got off to an unsettled start, which the opposition took advantage of. It was a stronger second half, especially in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to catch up with a final score of 36-45 Pom:

OBA 2 were last up in a match against Telstars 1. The ladies had a cracking game, leading from the start. The warmth and sunshine made it challenging, but they never lost the lead. Defence had a fantastic game, which helped to earn the win. Final score 43-33 Pom: .fenner
