Jenny, Louise and Sunil qualified as British Nordic Walking (BNW) Instructors in 2021, including nordic walking for people living with Parkinson’s and Related Neurological Conditions. After completing added training in September 2022 we are now the only BNW Instructors in East Yorkshire qualified to deliver the International Nordic Walking Federation’s brand new 2022 edition of their 10 Step Nordi

c Walking technique. This updated technique ensures you reap the full benefits of Nordic walking and reach your fitness goals faster. Jennifer and Julie, our British Nordic Walking qualified Nordic Walking leaders also qualified in 2021. We run a mix of groups designed to cater for all adults. Our mission is to empower people to nordic walk into better health and well-being, regardless of their starting point. We welcome people who enjoy a short, flat, gentle walk right through to distance walkers and people needing support to train to Nordic Walk competitions and events. Our walks include:
3 x weekly sessions per month, running from March through to November: 30 minute flat circuit walk. You determine your pace and distance. This session is popular with people living with Long Term Conditions and our team is on hand to support you to reach your potential.

3 x weekly sessions per month: 2 to 3 mile walk on Beverley Westwood incorporating technique skills, cardio, strength, balance and falls prevention elements. Monthly daytime social walks in different locations around West Hull Villages and the east Coast, often ending with a cafe stop. Weekly 3 to 4 mile evening walks in surrounding woodlands and countryside, sometimes ending with a pub stop. Monthly 6 mile and 10 mile weekend walks ending with a refreshment stop. We also organise social events so that all our members have the opportunity to meet up and get to know one another. As the nights start to draw in, tonight’s evening walk was our first of the autumn where we needed additional illustration to finish with!!
Tonight’s route is favourite because of the views across the surrounding area and tonight didn’t disappoint with a fantastic sunset 🌅 to go with it. Good luck to our Gemma who is competing over the weekend at the International Nordic Walk Championships in Finland. Look after our girl please Hughes.
See you all again soon.

After a few weeks away from our regular Nordic Walks, it was good to be back and to see everyone. What a difference some “cloud juice”🌧️ makes, everything looks so much fresher and not straw like. Lots of easy conversations flowed amongst the group which was good to hear. It was like we had never been away.
Well done everyone and see you all again soon.

We tried a new route tonight along the river. It was lovely to see the Humber bridge from a different angle with plenty of interesting things to see.

It will be ideal for when other routes are too muddy in the winter.

It had a very autumnal feel to today’s Monday morning Nordic walk. A little cooler and a lovely fresh smell after last night’s rain, all made for a really refreshing morning walk around the Westwood. Even the cows look relieved it was a little cooler!!!
It’s always great when we can celebrate a birthday. Happy 30th birthday Pete!! 🥳 😉
Well done everyone and see you all again soon.
Toodaloo now.

A little hill work, some shepherding and plenty of chat was the order of the day, making for a nice pleasant Nordic walk around Beverley Westwood.

As it heated up we headed for some welcome shade, going through Burton Bushes and along the avenue of trees.

Thank you for coming and hope to see you again soon.

For August’s weekend away walk we visited the beach. We set off early to avoid the heat, and the breeze off the sea made for very pleasant walking.

We checked out the rock pools but we only found a sea urchin, which on closer inspection was a lost dog ball!! ( Spectacles required).

Afterwards we visited the Brid Spa cafe and tested the wonderful cakes. We will be back.

Thank you for coming and hope to see you again soon.

So for the first time in a very long time, it actually felt coolish when we started our warm up today for our Monday morning Nordic walk. 🥶 But don’t worry, normal service was soon resumed and things warmed up nicely! 😎
We got to watch the local Kestrel looking for its breakfast. It even sort of came and said “hello”!! So we ran 2 groups today offering a variety of terrain for people to enjoy.😉 Some flatter stuff and some slightly more lumpy stuff. 🥵
Everyone seemed to make it look very easy!! We will have to work the troops harder next time!🤭
Well done everyone and see you all again soon.
Toodaloo now.

It’s the last Monday of the month, so that means it’s “Away Walk Monday“!! Today we visited a route we haven’t done for a few months.
We had a great turnout on a warm and breezy day, but not ridiculous to be fair. The route we did today has some archaeological ruins dating back to Henry VIII. They are hard to see now but have strong archaeological significance for the area. Post walk refreshments came in the form of cake and sausage rolls being particularly popular! Well done everyone thanks for coming and see you all again soon. 👍

I honour of Spoonerism day……

On a beautiful evening we set off along Fessle Horeshore. There were lots of Weautiful Bildflowers. The return leg gave us great views of the Bummer Hridge. The spoonerism gave us much to chat about and Luch Maughter.

Thank you for coming and hope to see you again soon.
