🏏 This Sunday: Annual Reunion at Berkhamsted Cricket Club 🏏

Plans for the weekend? Come and spend Sunday afternoon at the club as we bring together old friends, familiar faces and the wider Berkhamsted Cricket Club community.

Whether you played years ago, support from the sidelines, are involved today, or simply have a connection to the club, we’d love to see you there.

There will be cricket to enjoy, plenty of chances to catch up, the bar will be open, and food will be available from the Mad Squirrel. Our Women’s section will also be in action at home, so it’s a great day to come along and see the club as it is today.

This is the original Berkhamsted cricket ground at Lower Kings Road, photographed around 1906 and brought back to life in colour. 🏏

This isn't where you'll find us today. The club moved to Castle Hill in 1984 and the old Lower Kings Road ground has long since been built over. But for the best part of a century, this was home.

Look closely at what's changed:

🐎 The white building behind the boundary proudly advertises "A. C. Meek, Hunting and Livery Stables", once a Berkhamsted institution, where you'd hire a horse the way you'd order an Uber today.

🛏️ And on the right? That's the sightscreen, likely a bedsheet. Held up by two poles. Cricket has come a long way!

What hasn't changed: a cricket team in their whites, a fielder at gully and the Chiltern hills rolling away behind. Same game. Same town. Same club and thriving.

Having marked our 150th anniversary last summer, we're stepping into our 151st year - proud of where we've been, and excited about where we're going.

🏏 Berkhamsted Cricket Club Annual Reunion - Sunday 28 June, from 1pm 🏏

Berkhamsted Cricket Club is hosting its Annual Reunion and we’d love to welcome former players, Vice Presidents, Life Members, current players, families and anyone with a connection to the club.

Come along to catch up, reminisce and share a few stories from cricketing days gone by, while also seeing how the club is growing today, including our thriving Women’s section, with both women’s teams playing at home on the day.

The bar will be open and food will be available from the Mad Squirrel, so it’s a great chance to enjoy an afternoon of cricket, community and conversation.

We’re pleased to share that our Disabilities Cricket sessions will be moving to a new regular time:

📅 Saturday mornings
🕙 10am
▶️ Starting from this weekend - Saturday 20 June

These sessions are a brilliant opportunity to enjoy cricket in a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment.

Please note: our current Monday evening sessions, 6–7pm, will continue until the end of June, so there will be a short overlap while the new Saturday sessions get underway.

Whether you’re already involved or thinking about giving it a go, we’d love to see you there.

After last weekend’s matches were sadly rained off, we’re ready for a proper Saturday of cricket at Berkhamsted CC, and the forecast is looking much more like it!

Come down and support the teams, enjoy a drink in the sun, and soak up a brilliant afternoon at the club. The gate will be open, so bring friends, family and plenty of good vibes.

🎥 Just a snippet of some of Martha Roberts’ fantastic shots from her brilliant 88 off just 62 balls.

The Berkhamsted opener was in scintillating form, sharing a 122-run opening partnership with Christina Soulsby (50) as our Girls U19s powered to an 85-run victory over local rivals Harpenden in the ECB Girls U19 National T20 Cup.

👏 A knock that deserved the standing ovation it received from the pavilion.

🎉🌺 THE FIRST CLUB NIGHT OF THE SEASON – THIS SATURDAY! 🌺🎉

With six senior teams in action and junior cricket in full swing, we’re bringing everyone together for our first Club Night of 2026!

After Saturday’s matches, players, families, supporters and members are invited to stay on for an evening of food, drinks and socialising with people from across the club.

Dig out your loudest, brightest and most ridiculous shirt – Hawaiian shirts are encouraged, but anything outrageous goes!
