🏏 THE FINAL WEEKEND OF THE SEASON! ☀️💙💛

Our latest newsletter is out, and what a way to round off another brilliant season at Berkhamsted Cricket Club.

A huge well done and thank you to everyone who has played, volunteered, coached, supported, scored, umpired, organised and cheered us on throughout the summer.

Last weekend was a particularly special one, with our Bank Holiday charity day raising a massive £13,000+ for the MND Association! An incredible total and a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.

There’s still time for one last dose of cricket today, with our 1st XI and 3rd XI both at home. The sun is out, the rolling hills are looking pretty good, the bar is open - so come down, grab a drink and enjoy the final Saturday of cricket. 🍻🏏☀️

And once the cricket finishes, we’ll be carrying on tonight with our End of Season Players’ Awards - BBQ, drinks, awards, plenty of banter and a chance to celebrate the season properly before we do it all again next year. 🏆

Good luck to everyone playing this weekend, including our women’s sides tomorrow, and thanks again to everyone who has made 2026 such a memorable season.

🏏 LAST SENIOR SATURDAY OF THE SEASON! ☀️

And somehow, after all that rain last weekend, the sun has decided to turn up for the finale! 🙌

Our five senior sides are in action for the final league Saturday of the season, with two games at home:

🏏 1st XI vs Stevenage
🏏 3rd XI vs Hemel Hempstead

If you’re around this afternoon, swing by the club, grab a drink from the bar and enjoy a few hours of cricket in the sunshine. 🍻☀️

The 2nd, 4th and 5th XIs are all on the road for their final games too - good luck to everyone playing today! 💙💛

And once the cricket is done, it’s back to the club tonight for our Players’ Awards 🏆 - a chance to celebrate the performances, moments and characters from another season at BCC.

🏏 TOMORROW AT BERKHAMSTED CRICKET CLUB – ALL IN SUPPORT OF MNDA ❤️

Tomorrow is about much more than cricket.

One of our players, Charlie, and his family received devastating news last October when his dad, Ed, was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS, a form of Motor Neurone Disease.

Over the past year, they’ve seen first-hand just how cruel and relentless MND can be. There is currently no cure, and that’s why we want to do our bit to support the vital research that could change that.

So tomorrow, we’re bringing together players, families, friends and the wider Berkhamsted community for a full day of cricket and fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

🏏 Cricket from 11am
🍔 Food & bar throughout the day
🍦 Ice cream & bake sale
🎟️ Raffle with some brilliant prizes
🤫 Silent auction with some incredible lots
🏆 Final from 6pm

There really are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, so have a look through the pictures!

Most importantly, everyone is welcome. Come down, bring the family, enjoy some cricket and help us raise as much as we possibly can for Ed, Charlie and everyone affected by MND.

After all five matches were washed out yesterday, we’re keeping everything crossed that the rain stays away today!

Our Women’s 2nd XI take on Harpenden III at home, with play getting underway at 1pm 💙💛

☀️ The sun’s out (for now!) so come down, enjoy the weather and get some cricket in before the rain decides to make another appearance!

And don’t forget, tomorrow is our Charity Match at the club – another great day of cricket and fundraising to round off the Bank Holiday weekend 🙌

🌧️ Well… it wouldn’t be an English cricket season without a bit of rain! 🏏

Our latest BCC newsletter is out, with all the news from around the club as we head into the final stretch of the season.

Unfortunately, the weather isn’t playing ball this morning and the 3rd XI’s local derby against Northchurch has already been cancelled. ☔ We’re keeping everything crossed that the rain clears, the sun makes an appearance and the rest of today’s games can get underway! 🤞☀️

There’s also plenty happening beyond today, including a big Bank Holiday Monday for the club.

💙🧡 We’re hosting our Charity Cricket Day in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, with cricket from 11am, food and bar, raffle, silent auction and some fantastic prizes. Everyone is welcome, so please come along and help us raise as much as possible for a brilliant cause.

🏏 Plus, our Dacorum Super League side are in Finals Day at Kings Langley on Monday, taking on Tring in the semi-final at 10am!

🏏 Just two Saturdays of league cricket! 💙

The 2026 season is rapidly drawing to a close, with this Saturday and just one more to go for our senior Saturday sides.

We’ve got two teams at home today, with the 2nd XI taking on Reed II and the 4th XI hosting Shenley Village IV, while the 1st, 3rd and other 4th XI are all on the road.

☀️ If you’re around, come down to the club, grab a drink and get behind the teams as we head into the final couple of weeks of the season! 🏏🍻

And don’t forget – the cricket continues over the Bank Holiday weekend…

💙🧡 CHARITY CRICKET DAY – MONDAY 31 AUGUST

We’ve got a full day of 6-over cricket from 11am–7pm, alongside food and drink, a bake sale, raffle and an incredible silent auction – all raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Bring your friends and family and join us for what should be a brilliant day at the club – everyone is welcome!

🏏 A special message from former England bowler Steven Finn ahead of Monday…

This Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August, we’re bringing everyone together at Berkhamsted Cricket Club for a full day of cricket and fundraising in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. 💙🧡

And former England Test cricketer and BBC commentator Steven Finn has sent us a message encouraging you to come along!

🏏 Fast-paced 6-over cricket from 11am, featuring BCC Men, BCC Women, Berkhamsted School staff, Durham University alumni and plenty of familiar faces, friends and family.

🍔 Food & bar run by Mad Squirrel
🍦 Ice cream
🧁 Bake sale
🎟️ Raffle with some fantastic prizes
🔨 Silent auction – with some seriously brilliant lots!

Among the prizes up for grabs are Arsenal tickets, signed shirts from Brendon McCullum and Sam Curran, holidays in Spain, Yorkshire, Suffolk and Cornwall, an Ashridge golf experience, afternoon tea at the House of Lords and much more.

What does Berkhamsted Cricket Club mean to you?

With hundreds of members across our junior, women’s, men’s and social teams, there are plenty of different answers and that’s what makes our club what it is.

There are only a few weeks left of the 2026 season, so come down to the club, enjoy some cricket and support our teams in action before the summer is out! ☀️🍻🏏

And if watching this makes you fancy getting involved yourself, we’d love to welcome even more new players and members for 2027, whatever your age or experience!
