A few days away. My first ever proper holiday without the kids.

Quiet. Time with friends. Two whole books read (two!). And mostly, actual space to think about me and what I want. Not what everyone else needs from me. Just me.

Obviously I can’t jet off with the girls every couple of months, as much as I’d love to. But it got me thinking: that feeling doesn’t have to depend on a holiday. So I’ve booked in some more sessions with my own coach, to build that same space and time into the structure of my life, not just save it for once a year.

It also got me reflecting on the benefits I feel from the coaching I receive myself, and the feedback my own clients give me about how they feel after our sessions.

So what does coaching with me actually look and feel like? If you’ve spent years taking care of everyone else and you’re starting to wonder what about me?, that’s exactly who I work with. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to be ready to come back to yourself.

I’ve been having a lot of conversations lately, with clients and with friends, about overwhelm. They all sound very similar at the moment.

Six weeks of school holidays. The juggle. The mental load nobody sees. Then September arrives with the uniform labels, the forms, the clubs, the emotions of a child settling back in, and in all of that sits an unspoken expectation that you’ll be back to operating at 100%.

It isn’t going well for any of the women I’ve spoken to.

Someone then recommended me an article by Deborah Joseph, former Editor in Chief of GLAMOUR UK, about the idea of the 70% life. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

70% doesn’t mean lowering the bar. It means accepting that giving 100% to everything leaves you giving your best to nothing, and that choosing where your full effort goes is a skill worth having.

A lot of my coaching work sits right here. Not finding you more capacity, but working out what’s actually yours to carry.

If you’re reading this while mentally running through tomorrow’s packed lunches, what would your 70% look like this week? Tell me in the comments

Summer’s winding down.

The lazy mornings, the day trips, the sandy car seats, the family time that felt like it might just go on forever… it’s been a good one.

And now, right alongside packing away the beach bags, the back-to-work, back-to-routine reset is creeping in.

For a lot of the women I work with, this shift back doesn’t just bring a fuller diary. It brings that question that’s been sitting in the background all summer, half-drowned out by all the family memory-making: is this the year something changes?

Maybe it’s a return from a career break. Maybe it’s redundancy, or just a growing sense that what worked before doesn’t fit anymore. Whatever it is, you don’t need to have the answer yet. You just need to be willing to sit with the question.

If that’s you, I’ve put together a Career Crossroads Programme to help you take stock, reconnect with what you bring, and start shaping what’s next.

Contact me if you want more information. I offer a free 30-minute conversation and personalised 121 coaching conversations too. A chance to talk about where you are and what might help.

You’re good at anticipating everyone else’s needs.

The school run. The work deadlines. The endless list of things that can’t wait.

But when did you last ask what you actually want for your life?

Not one day. Not when things calm down. Now.

These are 10 reminders from my free Goal Setting Toolkit. Written for you when you’re ready to focus on what you want. A career change. A health goal. Learning something new. Something that’s just yours.

Save this for the days when everyone else’s needs feel louder than your own.

And if you’d like the full toolkit, it’s free. Just DM me and I’ll send it straight over.
