Did someone say League Champions!! 🏆

After a brilliant hard fought game against a very good and well coached Dunscroft team, the girls came out on top winning 3-2.

Being down 1-0 at half time, the girls stepped up the pace and quickly got a goal back with Daisy making a trademark run through the Dunscroft defence to be one on one with the keeper and managed to poke the ball home bringing the girls back in to the game.

Shortly after another run through the defence saw Daisy once again one on one with the on rushing Dunscroft keeper who managed to make a good save, only for the ball to fall to the feet of Elsie who hit the ball right footed from outside the area over the stranded keepers head to give the girls the lead.

Dunscroft soon brought the score back level after a block on the edge of the area resulted in Miya unfortunately caught the ball with her hand giving Dunscroft a Freekick.

Once again though the Bentley girls determination they dug deep and once again anorher ball behind the defence and who else latched on to the through ball other than Daisy, who again one on one with the keeper slotted the ball home to give the girls all 3 points ensuring they finished the season unbeaten.

An Amazing journey with the girls this season.

*Match Report*

AFC Bentley u11 Girls 4 - 1 Scawthorpe Scorpions Pink

Yesterday game put the girls up against an ever improving Scorps team, who made the girls work hard to grind out the result.

The girls had a few early attacks in the first half, which were matched with some great defending and brilliant saves from the opposition. The break through came midway into the half after Amber had used her skill and speed to make some space to get a shot off which was saved by the Scorps keeper, but she couldn't hold on to the ball which landed at the feet of the on rushing Alana who popped the ball in to the bottom corner giving the girls a 1-0 lead.

The scorps girls continued to push on and got the equaliser a few minutes later with a brilliant effort from the edge of the box hitting Izzys top corner.

HT 1-1

The 2nd half started with a bang, withing 30 seconds of the whistle a scorps clearance landed at the feet of Daisy on the half way line, who stepped up and hit a wicked shot towards goal which bounced right in front of the keeper and over her head in to the goal.

While the scorps were still battling hard and having their own chances, the Bentley defence stood strong and kept them at bay.
Bentley kept the attacks going and a bit of link up between Elsie, Alana and Amber resulted in a scorps player making a tackle with flew passed her own keeper and despite the best efforts of the scorps keeper it rolled in to the goal to make it 3-1.

The final goal came as Alana attacked the scorps goal, got a shot away which was saved but spilt by the keeper and Alanas quick thinking followed the ball in to score her 2nd of the game.

FT 4-1

A good performance from both teams and played in good spirits.

Coaches Player - Bronwyn - Constant rock in the middle, breaking up play and releasing the attackers.

Parents Player - Gracie - Regaining that confidence that won her most improved last season, good strong performance at right back.

Opposition Coaches Player - Daisy - All over the pitch, making numerous runs at the defence and scored a wonder goal.

Next game - At home v Dunscroft Tuesday 18.30pm
