The village of Kakgot, home to about 150 residents. Our Crowdfunding will enable the school to start a boarding option for pupils that live far outside the village. In such a remote region, these children would otherwise have no education.

Craig Wiltshire of Struto hands over new computers to Headmaster Bishnu and teachers at the school before getting to work on the schools IT upgrade. Partners ITHQ have been key fundraisers and will provide the expertise and hardware for the upgrade in the coming months.

A dramatic leap in the story to Neil Laughton and Nima Kancha Sherpa on the summit of Putha Hiunchuli (7246m), 18th September 2024. We await confirmation from Guinness World Records for the 'Highest Bike Ride'. Our updates have been impossible due to the remote region; the team has been 'off-grid' since early September. We are safely home and will share the story and images in the coming days.🙏

A tough days hike across the river and up the ridge to acclimatise. Leaving Kakgot at 3400m and reaching the ridge 4 hours later at 4350m. The village can be seen in the valley below. We leave here in the morning to do the same climb with bikes and then follow the ridge to first base camp. A long day ahead! We will now be off grid until we get back to Kakgot after the climb on 19th.

The team has reached Kakgot (3400m) after three hard days trek through the Baro River valley. Spectacular scenery, white water rapids after the monsoon and some trecherous drops from the cliff path. Very hot and humid to start but now cooler in the village. Today is a rest day so we are just doing a five hour climb to 4500m to acclimatise, then back to the school.

An all too brief stop in Kathmandu for the HNR team. A chance to sort out last items of kit before our flight west today. A great night sleep at the Kathmandu Guest House. Feeling good!
