H&W Welders FC are delighted to announce the signing of Jack McCosh ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The versatile player joins the club following his spell at Knockbreda FC and arrives at Blanchflower Stadium with a reputation for hard work, intelligence and consistency. Comfortable operating as a defensive midfielder, while also capable of playing in a variety of positions across the left-hand side, McCosh adds valuable flexibility and balance to the Welders squad.

At just 20 years of age, Jack already has a wealth of experience and has ambition, is eager to make the step up and establish himself within the squad at the welders in this years Championship.

Manager Paul Kee welcomed the signing:

“Jack is a player who fits exactly the profile we were looking for. He’s versatile, reliable and has a fantastic attitude towards the game. His ability to play in several positions gives us real options, but most importantly he has the character and mentality that we value highly at this football club. We believe there is plenty of learning potential and development ahead of him and we’re excited to see what he can bring to the group.”

Speaking after putting pen to paper, McCosh said:

“I’m delighted to join H&W Welders. It’s a club with big ambitions and a strong reputation, and I felt it was the right opportunity for me to challenge myself. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and working with the management team and helping the club achieve its goals this season.”

H&W Welders FC are delighted to announce the signing of central defender Lewis English from Knockbreda FC ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 26-year-old centre-back arrives at Blanchflower Stadium bringing a strong defensive presence, leadership qualities and a determination to test himself at the next level. Standing at 6’3”, English adds further strength and physicality to the Welders back line as preparations continue for the new campaign.

Having impressed during his time at Knockbreda, Lewis has earned the opportunity to step up and is eager to prove himself in Championship football.

Manager Paul Kee welcomed the addition:

“Lewis is a player we have monitored for some time. He has the physical attributes, character and desire that fit perfectly with what we are building at this football club. He is hungry to improve, hungry to compete and sees this as an opportunity to prove himself at the next level. We believe there is plenty more to come from him and we’re delighted to welcome him to the Welders.”

Speaking after signing, Lewis said:

H&W Welders FC are delighted to welcome Matthew Nugent to the club as our new First Team Performance & Opposition Analyst ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Matthew joins the football department to strengthen the club’s high-performance environment, supporting the coaching staff through opposition analysis, match preparation, player development, tactical review and performance insights.

His role will be key in helping deliver detailed preparation, modern analysis, and continual improvement both on and off the pitch.

Manager Paul Kee commented:

“Matthew’s appointment is another important step in continuing to build standards and detail within the football club. Analysis plays a huge role in the modern game and his work will support both players and staff throughout the season.”

Harland & Wolff Welders FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Jack Reilly ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 25 year-old arrives at Blanchflower Stadium following spells with Newington, Bangor and most recently Ards FC, bringing valuable Championship experience and versatility to the squad.

A naturally left-footed player, Jack a talented wide midfielder with athleticism plus excellent defensive qualities and ability to contribute in attacking areas make him an exciting addition to the Welders squad as preparations continue for the new season.

Having made over 100 senior appearances during his time with Newington before further developing at Bangor and Ards, Jack has established himself as a reliable and consistent performer within NIFL Championship.

Harland & Wolff Welders FC are delighted to announce the signing of striker Kyle Robinson ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Kyle is a talented young forward with excellent experience already gained across the League of Ireland and in Scotland, and at just 23 years of age, we believe he has all the attributes, mentality, and potential to establish himself as an important player within the Northern Ireland Championship.

A mobile and energetic striker, Kyle brings pace, work ethic, attacking intent, and a real desire to continue developing his game within a competitive environment.

As we approach the end of May and the opening of the June transfer window, H&W Welders FC can confirm the following squad updates ahead of the new 2026-27 season.

The club can confirm the departures of Sammy Safaei, who has returned to Dundalk FC following his loan spell, and Eno Eto who joined us from Hereford United in February and will now sign for Bedford Town in Conference North division England.

Ross Hunter has returned to Ballymacash Rangers, while Gerard Walker has joined Dundela. Callum Cowan has joined Ballyclare Comrades and Ronan Wilson Limavady United following the expiry of their agreements with the club.

Also departing are Ethan Devine, Daylen Farren, James McCarthy, Liam Mullan and Caolan Murphy.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to all departing players for their efforts, commitment, and contribution during their time at the Welders, and we wish them all the very best for the future.

The club would also like to confirm that Harry O’Connor will be leaving to take up a scholarship opportunity in the United States of America. Everyone at H&W Welders FC wishes Harry every success as he begins this exciting new chapter in his football and academic career.

The Welsh champions and regular European competitors will provide a strong test for the Welders as preparations begin ahead of the new Championship campaign.
