📚 Back to school 📚

Although your parents maybe outwardly jumping for joy at the prospect of you going back to school after a long 6 weeks 😉
…. They don’t mean it!

With some of our girls starting secondary school and some, just going back can feel tough, we thought this was an important message! You are never alone! It is a moment in time and it provides great opportunities.

Whether you are in the netball family or not, we are with you all on your first days back.
Start your first day with positivity and all you need to worry about is trying your best! Trying your best to be you! The best version of you is more than enough 🫶🏻

☀️ We have had so much fun in our first summer together! … and as it comes to end we are so proud of the commitment these girls have shown to be part of the ‘team’ and stay active over the holidays.

🏋🏼‍♀️ The last planned team activity finished on a high with our team circuits session with a group effort and girls all across our junior age range representing and really showing up

We had sounds 🎶 , sweets 🍬 and sweat 😰

Thank you . It will all be worth while when you step onto that court 💪🏻

✨ The difference that inspirational figure can have in your life, someone who gave you that drive and believed in you! …. They are so memorable even years on!

Think back to when you were growing up, who was that memorable figure and that special person?

Was there someone who believed in you, encouraged you, gave you confidence or simply saw something in you that you didn’t quite see in yourself yet?

A coach. A teacher. A mentor. A family friend. Or maybe just someone who said the right thing at the right time.

So this is just a little excuse to bring back some good memories. ❤️

Who was that person for you?

You never know — it might be lovely for them to discover that all these years later, you still remember.

🚨 Partnering with a ‘cosy’ local business 🚨

We love love love the fact we have had the opportunity to work with local businesses and they have generously demonstrated their support in what we are trying to achieve at this club.

We have some amazing news! … we have been working with a fantastic local, family business and we will be working together moving forward.

We want to thank bECOsy Premium Pet Beds for their support and sponsorship.

They are a local premium pet bed provider right in the heart of Wixams. They pride themselves on the quality of their products and that their beds are registered with the Vegan Society so all their products are vegan friendly.
They dont just produce pet beds, have a look at their website at their pillows and other products.

🪽 Looks who’s soaring … 🪽

In our ‘look who’s soaring’ posts, we celebrate the individuals linked to our club both on and off the court. We cheer them on in their successes relating to life’s achievements and not just netball.

Today is a chance to celebrate one of our own! Lucille plays in our years 7-8 teams. She is not just very handy on court but an all round sports women who annoyingly is good at most sports 😏

🎾 Netballs biggest contender for Lucille is Tennis where she has followed in her mums footsteps.

What an amazing achievement to play at Wimbledon in the ‘Play your way to Wimbledon’ national finals this week.

She looks great in those Wimbledon whites but don’t forget where that netball dress is!

Super proud.

It was a Friday thing !

It might be the summer holidays but these young netballers still turn up in masses just to get time on the court. Some to practice their skills, some to learn the game for the first time!

What a privilege to be chosen to be part of that! (…. It helps that it was sunny, let’s see if we are saying the same thing come January 😉)

Here’s hoping in years we look back to see who came with us on this journey at the very beginning.

🏆 Phoenix Summer Challenge 🏆

☀️ We are now into our 2nd week out of summer challenge and the girls are doing amazing!

🏃‍♀️ We are really pushing the aim to stay active over the summer period and doing so with a sprinkling of netball thrown in.

💪🏻 On top of our group socials, park runs and summer sessions our summer challenge is something our players can do anywhere …. And they are proving just that, sending evidence from across the seas, on their holibobs and in the garden!

It’s been so great to see some of the uptake and the support our parents are giving the girls to take part!

🪎To add a little incentive (if they needed it) we are going to draw a winner at the end of the summer who will win a choice of one of these fantastic prizes.

Want to join in? Get in contact and also get involved in some of our other summer activities …. It’ll give them something to keep them occupied whilst you juggle, work, the house and the general pull that summer holidays bring us all. 😉

🙌🏻 Happy International Friendship Day 🙌🏻

Hope everyone has got over the hump of the week!

🫱🏻‍🫲🏽 We just wanted to take a moment as it is international friendship day, to focus on what really is important within, not just netball but all teams sports…friendships!
It is why players not just play but stay. It is where some of the strongest friendships are made, on court!

… and we love seeing those friendships flourish when we are together.

👭Why not bring a friend to one of our upcoming sessions over summer. Not just netball, but we have some group runs, fun fitness sessions and just some socials all lined up.

…. And if not just take the plunge and bring your daughter along on their own as she will be guaranteed to make friendships you never expected!

At Wixams Phoenix Netball Club, we’re looking for enthusiastic girls in School Years 5 & 6 (ages 9–10) to be considered for a place in our Phoenix Embers or Phoenix Sparks squads.

This isn’t just about playing netball—it’s about becoming part of a club where girls are encouraged to grow in confidence, build friendships and develop both on and off the court.

We’re looking for players who are the right fit for our development pathway—girls who are eager to learn, enjoy working as part of a team and will thrive in our positive, supportive environment. Whether your daughter is new to netball or already has some experience… attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to improve matter just as much as ability.
