Keeping things simple 💥🥊🥋⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Playing with a Jab into Rear Round Kick setup targeting the kick into the Head, Body or Legs. Also switch hitting between the Orthodox and Southpaw stances so that I’m never caught in the “Wrong” stance just my “Other” stance. ⚔️⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Interchanging at random between⁣⁣
⁣⁣
C1 - Jab, Leg Kick⁣⁣
C2 - Jab, Body Kick⁣⁣
C3 - Jab, Head Kick⁣⁣

Enjoying the process of gently getting back into some kind of shape. No better way to it than through the martial arts we love. ⁣⁣⁣

Low Kick Setups!!! 💥🥊 🦵🙅🏾‍♂️⁣

Working a single pad and the strike shield with to set up some leg kick entries. We are running three entries in parallel denoted by C (for combination) and 1,2,3 respectively. The entries get slightly more complex 1 through 3.⁣

The breakdown is as follows - ⁣

C1 - Jab, Rear Low Kick ⁣

C2 - Jab, Rear Uppercut, Lead Hook (Body), Rear Low Kick⁣

C3 - Jab, Rear Uppercut, Lead Hook (Body), Cross, Lead Arm Frame (Stiff Arm to create space), Rear Low Kick.⁣

Diversification on the entries significantly improves the success rate of the Low Kick landing. And for those who know, being on the receiving end of consecutive low kicks is next level pain 😖⁣

Great work Heath. This ☝🏽 is ⁣

The online instructional is available now to stream via the link in bio 📱 💻 🖥 where you can also register interest for the weekend workshop. An entire day dedicated to developing pad skills that will blow your clients minds or move your fighters skill set to the next level.⁣

I had the privilege of sharing some Padwork knowledge with the trainers at the newly established ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
First and foremost WHAT a venue. A truly remarkable training space but I expect nothing less from my friend, head coach and founder David Kingsbury ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Secondly, I loved the experience of teaching and sharing ideas to bring structure and something quantitative to my very complex style of Padwork. Thank you guys for your time, attention and for being so receptive.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Weekend workshops will be running here very shortly. I am looking for ten to fourteen ambitious and hardworking trainers looking to level up there skill set. We will spend the day coaching Technical Padwork. You will generate more sales to your personal training and/or group fitness business, vastly increase your client retention and I am confident that by utilising some of the in depth, combat tested principles within the Alpha Padwork framework you will differentiate yourself from a noisy, uneducated and oversubscribed crowd of fit pros.⁣⁣

BODY>HEAD>BODY>EXIT SEQUENCE 💥🥊⁣

Here we are hitting some level changes with a left pivot exit strategy from the orthodox position. ⁣

This short simple combination looks as follows:⁣

1. Step In Lead Jab (Body)⁣

2. Use the legs to deliver the Rear Uppercut (Head) from a deep lunge from part 1. ⁣

3. Level Change again by dropping the weight onto the lead leg (which also keeps your head off the mid line) to setup the Lead Hook (Body)⁣

4. Pivot off the midline to exit and safely win this short exchange. ⁣

This is and if you would like to bring structure to your Padwork sessions I have an online course available for download now.

You can also register your interest in the very first live weekend workshop where I will breaking down Padwork syllabus and technique with 10 like minded and ambitious personal trainers and boxing/martial arts coaches.

Finishing the year strong with this quick fire boxing combination. This sequence encourages -

✅ A varied shot selection
✅ Defensive head movement
✅ A shuffle step to get us off the mid line and load the rear hips in order to deliver the power shot.

The breakdown is as follows.

1. Jab, Lead Hook, Cross
2. Double Slip, Lead Hook, Cross*
3. Shuffle Step into Rear Hook (Body)
4. Pivot into lead hand frame.

* In step 2. the retraction of the final Cross is used to feed the biomechanics for the shuffle step. ⚙️💥🥊

Looking forward to resurrecting the online Padwork instructional through 2019 with a new look website. The 3-tier video downloads will soon be more affordable and accessible.

I am even more excited to be running workshops in person for small groups of aspiring trainers looking to develop their pad skills. This will enable them to

📈 Increase client sales.

📈 Radically improve client retention.

📈 Own a skill set to separate you from a saturated field.

📈 And ultimately generate more income.

DM me to register your interest for the very first Live course or for more information regarding the online product.

Working diligently with as we rep the following Dutch style combination.

1. Jab, Cross

2. Roll & angle off the mid line, Lead Body punch on the way through.

3. Cross, Lead Hook (Body), Rear Knee.

4. Lead Hook, Rear Roundkick

Accurate and concise Repetition will always be king. Lots to work on here, as always, but work we shall. This is .

Easing back into the full striking repertoire after an extensive period working exclusively on boxing. Here we have the following Dutch style sequence

1. Jab, Cross, Lead Hook, Rear Low Kick.

2. Lead Hook, Cross.

3. Switch Knee, Rear Horizontal elbow.

4. Lead Hook (body), Rear Low Kick.

A very different energy requirement 📈 once the Thai pads come out as we look for kicking techniques and consistent power shots.
