You don’t need to:
❌ Run 5k.
❌ Lift heavy weights.
❌ Have confidence.
❌ Know what you’re doing.

You just need to begin.

You don’t have to keep up.

Not with the fastest runner.

Not with the strongest person in the gym.

Not with the people posting perfect workouts online.

Not with the friend who seems to have it all figured out.

You only have to keep showing up for yourself.

I’ve spent plenty of time feeling like I was behind.

Too slow.
Too unfit.
Too old.
Too inexperienced.

I’ve looked around classes and wondered if everyone else was finding it easier.

I’ve worried that I wasn’t progressing quickly enough.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Your pace is allowed to be slower.

Your progress is allowed to take longer.

Your goals are allowed to be different.

The only person you need to keep up with is the version of you who almost gave up.

Because every walk, every workout, every run, every class and every attempt is moving you forward.

You don’t have to be the fastest.

You don’t have to be the strongest.

You don’t have to keep up.

You just have to keep going.

One year from now, you’ll wish you had started today.

Not because you’ll suddenly be perfect.

Not because you’ll have transformed overnight.

But because you’ll have given yourself 365 days of opportunities to become stronger.

One year from now you could have:

✔️ Walked hundreds of miles.
✔️ Built healthier habits.
✔️ Increased your confidence.
✔️ Improved your fitness.
✔️ Found a community.
✔️ Learned what your body is capable of.

The difficult part isn’t the year.

It’s Day One.

It’s the first walk.
The first class.
The first run.
The first time you walk into the gym.
The first time you choose yourself.

Twelve months ago, some of the things I do now felt completely out of reach.

I didn’t become stronger because I suddenly became motivated.

I became stronger because I kept taking small steps, even when they felt insignificant.

Progress rarely looks dramatic in the moment.

It’s one workout.
One walk.
One choice.
One week.

Then one day you look back and realise how far you’ve come.
