Don’t hate us for mentioning the… (whispers) Christmas word 🎄😂

We’ve opened our Christmas bookings and, if you’ve ever met Lyss, you’ll know that Christmas to her is like being a kid in a sweet shop. Naturally, it’s all completely dog-centred here because, after all, they are our kids!

Everything is already meticulously planned. Christmas Eve will involve a Santa box for each of our guests, filled with presents chosen around their dietary needs and personal preferences. Christmas Day will see every dog enjoying their own little version of our roast and, once we’ve all eaten far too much, we’ll finish with a proper Boxing Day walk ❤️

We’re only opening a small number of spaces because our dining table isn’t THAT long and Santa can only fit so many doggo presents down our chimney 😂

If any of our regulars are thinking of going away, send us a message and lend us your pooch for the festivities 🐾🎄

We’re starting our new guest book series with the very handsome Kobe and in our opinion, that is definitely a smile 😂

Such lovely words from his family and exactly how we want every dog to feel while staying with us: happy, relaxed and completely at home.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before we’re welcoming Kobe back through the door again ❤️

Friday night plans with Squiffles. Delicious sourdough pizza from The Hampshire Pizza Co (10/10 recommend), a lime and soda or two at The Woolpack Inn and, of course, one very cheeky dinner guest. 😂

Ever feel like you’re being watched while eating your pizza? Squiff kept a very close eye on proceedings, then completely reassessed his life choices when the pork scratchings came out for the humans and his Butternut Box dinner suddenly looked far less impressive. 🍕

We’ve got a rare daycare space available. 🩵

A day with us might involve catching up on Bridgerton from the sofa, learning far more than any dog should know about marketing trends and listening in on my daily gossip 😂

That’s what we love about home daycare, and probably why spaces don’t come up very often… they make themselves completely at home and then look mildly offended when their actual parents come to collect them.

We do have to pretend to be professional for part of the day, so drop off is between 7–8:30am and collection is between 5–6:30pm, which gives me a fighting chance of fitting the day job in somewhere between cuddles and walks🤍

If you’ve been looking for somewhere relaxed and personal to keep your dog entertained while you go off and earn the bucks, give us a shout. 🐾

Important question: if you’re on holiday, surely you’re entitled to holiday snacks? Apparently Willow agrees. 😂

One trip to the local farm shop, one box of doggy doughnuts and a LOT of interest… right up until she discovered they were vegetarian.

Ever heard the saying “drive it like you stole it”? Well Storm, we are definitely not testing that theory here. 😂

She was far too comfortable behind the wheel though, so I’m afraid she’s gone home with very unrealistic expectations and will probably now be asking her parents for a pickup.🐶

There are home boarders… and then there are home boarders who apparently take the dogs shopping for renovation supplies. 😂

Naturally, nobody questioned two Jack Rascals being pushed around B&Q like royalty.

If we’re going somewhere and it’s dog friendly ( red flag if it isn’t! ) chances are they’re coming too. 🩵

One thing we’ve realised lately is that not everyone quite understands what home boarding actually means. 🩵

It really does mean your dog comes to live with us for a few days. They’ll probably end up on the sofa, supervising Josh in the kitchen, joining us on walks and generally sticking their nose into whatever we’re doing.

It also means we’re quite careful about who stays with us. Not because we’re awkward, but because this is our home as well as theirs while they’re here. That’s why meet and greets, trial days and sometimes trial nights are so important. 🙌

It’s never just about whether we like your dog. It’s about making sure the dogs and humans are all going to feel comfortable and have a lovely time together. ☀️

Thank you so much for all the lovely messages about Lacey. It has really shown us what an amazing little community of people we have around us. Every message, comment and check-in has meant so much over the last couple of days. 🤍

Lacey had her long surgery yesterday and, in true Lacey fashion, pulled through absolutely fine. We were told that before she could come home she needed to show that she had some feeling and movement back in her leg, which can sometimes take up to a week. Clearly she didn’t get that memo, because just 12 hours after surgery she decided to show the physio that she could already toe tap, and I got a call today to say she was allowed to come home.🤣🙌

I can’t even explain how happy I am to have my dog back with us. She has been shaved all around her back end and leg and currently looks a bit like a tiny piglet 🐷.

Now the real hard work begins. She is extremely cross about being in a crate, equally offended by the fact she is now on slim and trim food, and already seems to think the rules of recovery should not apply to her. So I think it is safe to say she is feeling a little more like herself already. 😂
