on Victory A C was formed circa 1918 as an angling club for local men returning home from the first world war. The club fished one of the many flooded clay pits on the banks of the Humber, moving slowly eastwards over time. In 1998 the club had the chance of purchasing its own water (Hoe Hill) and did so by selling shares to the members. The club now consists of annual members and shareholders who own Hoe Hill on Pasture Rd north.
