This team💪💪💪💪

Saturday brought us to vickerstown for the annual summer tournament and as always it was a brilliant day for everyone…..

The yellows had a tough group but played some great football all throughout the group stage only to lose the unbeaten tag at the last game in a match they saved their best football for but they did not let that get them down finishing second was great and semi final in the cup was waiting for the boys…the group stage was a great stage for the boys they all played superbly as a team and individually was great to see for us coaches…

The boys played vickerstown in the semi which always brings a tough game as they are well organised and gave some magic on the field so the boys had to settle into the game and that they did scoring a couple of great goals and heading into another final against a great Cavs team….

The final was great both teams going at it nobody deserved to lose and Cavs took the lead but a great strike levelled the game and it finished 1-1 and onto penalties….

The lottery of penalties is hard to watch on tv never mind your own kids and the boys stepped up with all eyes on them after 3 each it went to sudden death and Cavs took the win and congratulations to them from us at walney it was a great battle with great players and is why we are all here…..

A runners up medal to top off a great season for the boys they been unbelievable this season especially in tournament season really putting together everything we are asking of them and to win a trophy and runners medal in the last two tournaments is something everyone can be proud off….

Exciting times ahead for the boys a summer break coming up and a new season ahead and some new challenges to come

Saturday football Furness cavaliers 2026 tournament

⚽️⚽️⚽️🏆🏆🏆🏆

Saturday brought us to Cav’s for their annual tournament and what a day it was….

Firstly big thanks to Furness Cavaliers Juniors for a great set up well run tournament it’s always one to not miss out on and the weather certainly came out good for everyone….

The yellows have been playing quite a few games against the age groups above recently and we think this showed today as they came out flying and showed some great play in the first game against swarthmoor 3 goals and 3 points a great start

Second game against hawcoat and the boys struggled to play against a very good hawcoat team who took the 3 points and scored 3 great goals

3rd game against grange was a tight affair with nobody giving up many chances done tough football on show 0-0 and 1 point

4th game against a really strong crooklands team and the boys showed fight and determination only to concede in the final minute 1-0 defeat and the boys now need to win the next one…

Last game of the group against a very good barrow island and needing a win to progress to the semi finals…the boys didn’t disappoint putting in another strong performance and scoring 4 goals along the way into the semi finals and as the football gods would see it on to holker again who we always seem to play in the later stages of tournaments and cups

Semi final- we seem to of really made a habit of meeting holker in big games and this was no different but the boys were ready today they had played great football up to this point and carried that on winning 1-0 and moving to the final

Final- up against a Millom team who have come on leaps and bounds in a very short period of time so credit to the coaches and they are tough to play the yellows started strong tho got their heads down and played as a team winning 2-0 and taking home the shield

A big thankyou to all the teams and coaches a great experience for the kids and a great vibe all through the day there was some great football played and the progression through all the teams is very impressive

all the kids played a big part today which was great to see they all contributed in different ways from goal keeper through to strikers and seeing a big team effort is great to see for us coaches…

The yellows move on now lots of work to do but a great way to finish a tournament and another cup to add to what has been a great 2 years with this team

And just like that our under 8s season has finished what a season the boys have had….autumn cup winners spring cup runners up and runners up in the latest tournament at holker street with more tournaments to come in summer…..

It’s been a great season and the boys have improved faster than we could of imagined really showing these last few weeks that they are becoming a lot more rounded as footballers so development is coming along nicely for the yellows….

There’s been highs there’s been lows but this season has gone in the blink of an eye as a coaching team we have given everything to get the boys improving and playing on a Saturday…

A big thankyou to all the coaches and players at under 8s locally it’s been great going up against you and massive respect for the job you all do there really is some great talent on the sidelines and on the pitch at every team locally hopefully barrow start up an academy at some point because some of these kids in this area are great….

Spring cup 2026 final vs holker spikers

A spring cup final against great opponents was the theme for Saturday and it was a great game….

Yellows started well but unfortunately today wasn’t our day and full credit to holker for playing a great game of football and they deservedly take the trophy home….

The lads gave everything today as they have all season really proud of everything they do and there’s plenty more to come from the boys in yellow….

It was a tough day for our yellows but also plenty to be upbeat about only two teams make a final and they played some great teams along the way so it’s a great achievement to get there and there was some really good individual performances….

Plenty now for us coaches to work on as a team and looking back the team have had a great season in only their second season in football still plenty of football to be played for our yellows over the summer and they always bounce back in style when the chips are down…

A busy summer ahead with tournaments we look forward to meeting these great teams again there really is some great talent in this league in all teams and we are lucky to be part of it….

A runners up medal in the spring cup and a winners medal in the autumn cup is more than we could of asked for considering the level of teams we play week in week out so again big congratulations to lHolker Old Boys Junior Section some great players and great coaches and we look forward to seeing everyone who supported us this season in the few remaining league fixtures and tournaments thankyou for your continued support

Easter tournament vickerstown…

The yellows played at vickerstown today so first up a big thankyou to the hosts and all the teams it was a great day for everyone they run a great tournament at vickerstown….

Yellows started well today two draws against top teams but lost there way in the next 3 games and found it tough going but the coaches got our heads together had a good talk with the kids and got them ready for the plate semi final….

The yellows came out flying in the semi and back to their best just in time and took the win against a good vickerstown team…

The final against holker stags started tasty with both teams scoring then the yellows settled down and the boys showed us what they can do when they settle and took the win and theme trophy home in style with a thunderbolt from Beau topping off a great performance and win…

Proud of the players today for showing up as a team later in the day not easy going on a bad run and turning it around but they are a team and they know what needs to be done when it matters…

Again thankyou to all who took part today the local under 8s league is brimming with talent in all teams….

Another Saturday another game day for your yellows….

Saturday seen Hawcoat Park Junior Football Club come to town and it’s always a tough game against an excellent well coached side and this was the same…

Would firstly like to thank Dan and the team for being a big part of the minutes applause for hendy thankyou Dan very much appreciated…

On to the game and it was a tasty affair hawcoat took the lead and play some great football the yellows had to work hard and Carter kept up his good form with a hat trick to settle yellow into a rhythm….

The yellows continued playing well and more goals from Billy helped the yellows take the win and continue this great form going into the spring cup final on Saturday…

The boys are playing like a team more and more and we have some great kids who work for each other they keep performing and the future is bright for these boys….

Player of the match was Carter sponsored by Furness Euronics he’s so good dribbling in from out wide and is showing everyone just how good he is well done Carter great performance
