Craig Baker Memorial Cup Final ⚽️

The result may not have gone our way today, but every single player should hold their heads high after an incredible run to reach the final. To get this far is a fantastic achievement, and the lads gave absolutely everything out on that pitch from the first whistle to the last.

The team showed real character, determination, and togetherness throughout the game and the whole cup journey. Finals are never easy, but the effort and commitment from every player wearing the Furness Athletic badge today was there for everyone to see. Sometimes football can be cruel, but this team has done themselves, the club, and the supporters proud.

A huge special mention goes to today’s Man of the Match our very own El Capitano, Kevin Shaun Lowe!

Kev was outstanding today, battling his heart out down the wing and in defence, never making life easy for the opposition. His work rate, leadership, and determination were immense from start to finish. Time and time again he put himself on the line for the team, tracking back, making important challenges, supporting his teammates, and showing the kind of fight every manager wants from a captain.

Even when the game got tough, Kev never stopped pushing, encouraging the lads around him and leading by example every single minute he was on the pitch. His passion for the team and commitment to the badge was clear for all to see, and his Man of the Match award was thoroughly deserved.

Massive credit to every single player, coaching staff, and everyone who has supported the team throughout this cup run. Reaching a final is something to be proud of, and although it wasn’t the ending we wanted, this group has achieved something special together.

Keep your heads high, lads plenty to be proud of. Up the Furness athletic ⚽️
