One of the teams in the U15 category has had to withdraw due to other commitments so we’re looking for a replacement. U14/15 NBL or Regionsl teams welcome- entry is free.

So today we have a couple of ‘firsts’ - first competitive games for our U12 Boys and first coaching experience for Scott, recently qualified L2. So Scotty and the team were (still are) in Liverpool at the Emily Brunnen Memorial Tournament, thank you for the invitation Phil. As you can see from the pre game photo, there were some nerves, but there needn’t have been. The first game against Wirral Raptors was close all the way through but we let them pull away at the end to win by 10 points, 46-36. The second game v Liverpool featured the longest quarter of basketball since 1892, but Thorns eventually came out winners 58-28. So a really positive start to some playing and coaching careers right there. They play again tomorrow and join the league next month, good luck all and well done today. Thank you parents for taking the lads to the event.

Great to see ‘The Boss’, Steve and Lily down there and I came away with a new hat. All in all a great afternoon 🤣

The club are hoping to enter teams in next years Coniston to Barrow and Keswick to Barrow walks to boost the minibus fundraiser campaign. Last season we were late to the C2B party so this year, we're on it early and looking for walkers for both events. For club members who have already responded in the club Whatsapp group, you don't need to respond again, but if we have any friends, supporters, parents - anyone at all who would like to help the club by joining our team(s), please Email [email protected] to register your interest and we'll be in touch.
