SUN SHINES ON THE GINGERS OUT THE CHITTLEBOWL 🐀 💙💛

After losing the toss and being stuck into bat in 75 degrees heat the rats managed to work a way to 190+ in the first innings, although it looked unlikely after BP9 gave catching practice to the man at mid on in the first over, Craig Horrell steadied the ship with lads batting around him before Weasley Tom Poole decided to give some heat out of his own, it appeared 50p a run was the way to get the best from TP as he struck a beautiful 50, Joe Hastie chipped in with a quick fire 35+ striking at 250+ 🔥

Everyone chipped in with the ball, Lish and Jenks with there normal solid performances but it was debutant Freddy Norton who walked away with the 4fer, Krissy Boreham’s first game of the season was also a success as he powered through the heat to bowl really well

Convincing in the end and a fun night, big thanks to chittle for refreshments and a fun game in the sun and to Kyran at The Bell Inn for hosting us after be sure to check that place out for food 🍔 👌🏼

Difficult game under the circumstances but everyone at the rats would like to pass there thoughts too Andrew Fewings and the family, we are with you mate 💙💛

Rats 🐀 nibble in to the penguins 🐧

Rats go 3 from 3 on the road… winning the toss rats put the penguins into bat and it took Ciaron Lishman 3 balls to take a wicket through the gate, the penguins never really got going losing wickets regularly. Wickets shared around… with Jimmy Hill coming back and bowling beautifully

Craig Horrell returned to the side and looked as classy as ever easy to see why he scored plenty of runs back in the day, Andrew Fewings chipped in with some hard runs and Ritchie looked to be finding some form of old…

Next up for the rats is ANOTHER away game at the chittle bowl next Tuesday 6pm start 💙💛🐀

Crazy opening to the season for the rats…

Winning the toss in fear of rain being around the rats decided to have a bowl having started well with Lishman getting an early LBW decision the wolves made there way to probably a below par effort in 149, there opener Smallridge playing really well and punishing every bowling mistake.

Gally got the run chase off to a flying start before Toby was out in the 5th over, The Rats then fell from 37-1 to 91-7 a mixture of bad batting, some good bowling and plenty of rustiness…

Needing 51 off the last 24 balls it wasn’t looking very likely before Jenkins took 18 off the 4th last to get it down to 33 off 3…. And the rats got over the line with a 4 off the last ball, one we stole and got away with….

Is there anything Jack Jenkins (sponsored by Sondico) isn’t good at? 👏 💙💛

We look to go again this Thursday night at westleigh who have recruited well and will be a tough opponent…
