⚽️ IT’S FINALLY HERE!! ⚽️

Hoyland kick off their league campaign this Sunday playing host to Sun Inn. After a long, rollercoaster pre-season the lads have pulled together a strong couple of results recently, taking momentum into our opener, where we look to build on last seasons Play Off Semi finals disappointment.

COBCAR 0 - 7 HOYLAND FC

final pre season game for us as we look ahead to next weeks opener.
From the very first whistle Hoyland took control of the game and played some really intense football and dominated the first half. We deservedly went in at HT 4-0 up with some impressive football. We opened the scoring after 4 mins when jammy scored a screamer from 25 yards. The stage then became James hectors with 3 great individual goals in 30 minutes benefiting from some really good link up play from our midfield and unselfish strikers that create chance after chance. HT we made lots of changes but Hoyland didn’t let up , neither did the quality and the scoring didn’t stop. Some brilliant play and we went on to score 3 more with captain and technically gifted Owen evans notching 2 goals on 50 and 57 mins. In truth we could and should have had a few more , but substitute and jet lagged Kristian wroe came back from his trip abroad to score Hoylands 7th in fine style.
Great performances all over the pitch today and can’t really mention everyone but you all know. Big Thankyou to the stand in referee Ben Lea who did a great job. We go again next week with our first league game against a tough opponent sunn inn. Thankyou as ever to our sponsors , Spencer roofing , toffs, and prospect tavern. Hoyland fc 6 - 0 new masons

Today we finally clicked as a team after a very poor pre season. First 15 mins game was scrappy and new masons had clearly come to play although not creating much in the way of chances. Hoyland got to grips with the new formation after the 15 min mark and soon took control of the game. Looking Defensively solid and our midfield controlling the middle of the park. We were clinical from set pieces today and our forwards caused all kinds of problems. Jay Bryan pulled off 2 brilliant saves to keep the clean sheet. Really good all around the pitch today . Too many great performances to mention them all today. Team performance today from all of them including the subs. Not getting carried away but really pleasing performance. Now on to the season.

Tomorrow sees us host New Masons Arms FC in what is our final pre season friendly. With the season right around the corner, we are looking to end pre-season on a high with a big performance and result and would be great to see you all down there with us backing the lads!

This weekend gives us a bit of a season teaser as we host fellow Division 1 competitors in AFC Pogmoor.
