Another great session completed this evening ⚽πŸ”₯

It was good to be back in the hall where futsal belongs.

Smaller numbers this evening, but that meant the players got loads of quality repetitions on both feet β€” something that’s massively important for long-term development.

We started with ball mastery as our activation, focusing on lots of touches with both feet, opportunities to freestyle, and some prescribed combinations.

We then ran a mini games night - 1v1s and small sided games. Points for each player for scoring, defending and their teams winning.

A brilliant effort from everyone tonight. The energy, attitude and willingness to learn were top class πŸ‘

Special shout out to our Players of the Night - Jenson & Eli

πŸ‘βš½ Well done to the players tonight!

Tonight's topic was Think Forward; Play Forward!

Every practice, including the warm-up, linked back to this theme.

We spoke to the players about always having the mindset of wanting to play forward and discussed some of the things they can do to make that happen.

If they have the ball πŸ‘‡
1️⃣ Drive into space if it's available. We worked on attacking space with bigger, but controlled, touches.
2️⃣ Play forward and break lines whenever possible

If they don't have the ball but a teammate does πŸ‘‡
1️⃣ Create space to receive by moving and finding a passing lane.
2️⃣ Receive on the half-turn where possible, allowing them to play forward quickly.

We also spoke about what I call the Brilliant Basics – doing the simple things really well. Even if it's a five-yard pass, play it properly. Don't be lazy with the ball and don't force fancy flicks when a simple action is the best option.

πŸ† Trainers of the Night went to our highest points scorers across some of the games:
⭐ Theo
⭐ Jonah
⭐ Emi

Although there were some very questionable scores being recorded at times... πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

Great effort, energy and attitude from everyone tonight. Keep thinking forward and playing forward! πŸ‘Šβš½

Another session completed this evening on the astro again due to exams in the sports hall.

Smaller numbers this evening but for those that attended they got plenty of repetitions in on both feet which is massively important.

The players started off with some ball mastery as an activation drill - loads of touches on both feet, plenty of opportunities to freestyle as well as some prescribed combinations.

Tonight we focused on forward moves and did the following practices πŸ‘‡

β€’ Unopposed Forward Moves with finish
β€’ Unopposed technical mastery drill with forward moves
β€’ 1v1s (transitional - attack to defence; 5 seconds to score)
β€’ SSGs

Well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches πŸ‘πŸ”₯⚽

We asked a few of our players what their favourite skills are. Here are some of their answers πŸ‘βš½

Whilst it's a small snapshot the Maradona is probably the most common skill the players love to perform.

19/03/2026

Why some of our players LOVE futsal… πŸ”₯⚽

⚽ Fast. Fun. Constantly involved.
⚽ No hiding. No waiting. Just touches, decisions and action.
⚽ Smaller space = more time on the ball.
⚽ Less time = quicker thinking.
⚽ More involvement = more confidence.

Players don’t just enjoy futsal… they improve because of it πŸ‘Š

It was great to be back on the court this evening after a few weeks outside on the turf.

Well done to all the players this evening πŸ‘ More technical mastery minutes in the bank.

The players started off with some ball mastery as an activation drill - loads of touches on both feet, plenty of opportunities to freestyle as well as some prescribed combinations.

Tonight we kept proceedings simple and played SSGs and 1v1s which gave the players plenty of opportunities to put their receiving eliminating and skills in to practice... And the players certainly delivered!

Again, well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches πŸ‘πŸ”₯⚽

Well done to all the players who took to the "turf" this week. More technical mastery minutes in the bank πŸ‘Š

Due to school exams the sports hall was lit of action so we went off piste to make sure we still put sessions on.

The players started off with some ball mastery as an activation drill - loads of touches on both feet, plenty of opportunities to freestyle as well as some prescribed combinations. The main focus was using turns to change direction and create separation - Cryuff's, Ls, Zidane's, Outside / Inside hooks etc.

Tonight we ran the following practices πŸ‘‡

P1:
P&R technical practice to focus on receiving and passing techniques. A "turn" before you pass condition was added as a progression.

P2:
Unopposed technical practice that involved full technical mastery - dribbling, passing and receiving.

We fed into the topic by focusing on turns to change direction and desperation and provided the players with loads of repetition opportunities.

Practices and combos were practiced on both feet.

P3:
1v1s - fast and furious 1v1s that incorporated receiving techniques and our topic - turns to create separation and change direction.

P4:
SSGs to finish focusing on the topic.

Again, well done to all the players but a special shout out to the players of the night who were selected by the coaches πŸ‘
