We have five lawns, so everyone is welcome to come and play; whether it's your first time or your lasting passion!

He's brand new to croquet, been with us less than a month and has already recorded his first competitive win.. and then 2nd... in a remarkable contribution (he won his doubles too) during our 10-8 victory in the NW handicap league against Tattenhall. All hail Robert Bellfield!!

Congratulations to Andrew Gould for a well deserved 6&6 win at our internal Level Play yesterday! A small but perfectly formed field of seven who dodged the rain showers to compete all vs all. Some quirky and inconsistent results (other than Mr Gould), made for a fun day which saw Dave Hunt-Jackson and Mike Bradbury finish on four wins each, with Mike necking the runners-up medal on hoop difference. Result of the day arguably Jez Town's golden hoop victory over last year's champion Ian Longstaff, a match-up with an 8 pt handicap difference. Way to go Jez Town! The way being the route to the handicapper's office for a "little chat"....!

A good win for Pendle in the pairs-based Cross Pennine Championship at Ripon on Sunday. In Eurovision style, we get to host next year's comp, back in Lancashire... that used to be Yorkshire... don't go there, it's still contentious!

Your winners from this weekend's Pendle Summer AC Handicap Trophy; Champion Peter Johnson from Huddersfield, playing in his first tournament. Congrats Peter! And for the fastest game; Malcolm Tingle from York who is about to celebrate his 88th. Happy birthday Malcolm! Both seen receiving their silverware from CqE Vice President, Eileen Magee.

Green is the new brown... we've got out lawns back. Big up to the mowing team who finally got a 4-in-1treatment down on Wed just before the rains came. And look at us now, everything's croquet doquet!

Forty three visitors to our Open Day saw fun & games for all ages, from 5 to 93 💜 Easy Sunday kinda vibe in thankfully cooler conditions. Eight people seriously thinking about joining. Three already have, as soon as they got home!

Fun for all ages at the Croquet Club Open Day next Sunday 16th August!

Make a date to join us on the lawns on Cemetery Road, Earby for your FREE chance to have a go at croquet in a fun, family atmosphere. It's easy to pick up and perfect for all ages and abilities. There will be Club members on hand to encourage and point you in the right direction... i.e. through the hoop!

It all starts at 10am, running through to 4pm and all equipment is provided. All you need is some flat shoes and you're good to go. Even better, there's FREE tea and cakes too 😄 so get yourself down!

The postcode to use is BB18 6QX and we have our own car park if you carry on down Cemetery Road a bit and and then turn left.
