Hi Everyone.
Just to let you know that Barmouth Cycles ,or BARMOUTH CYCLES, (depending on what page you're on),is going to Significantly change the way it operates.
Barmouth Cycles has been going now for nearly 3 years (thank you for your continued support) and over that time, an obvious pattern has emerged. As you know, im not a shop, and despite keeping some tyres, tubes and chains in stock, I operate on a " find out what's needs fixing, order the parts, and fix it" method. This obviously keeps the cost down on stagnent stock.
Therefore, as from Monday 18th May 2026, Barmouth Cycles will be appointments only. I will be predominantly operating on evenings and weekends. Sadly, dropins won't be an option. Through observations, it is quite apparent, that my customers work in the day so dropping bikes off in an evening suits.

It's been a new bike build kind of day.
Including a full M safety check.
A bike is not just for Christmas.
Let's not see any more of the forks the wrong way round.
Pedals cross threaded because they're on wrong side.
Gears not working properly.
Seat and handlebars at wrong height.
Brake levers set at incorrect angle.
Wheels not square in drop outs or are one sided in forks.
Tyres under inflated.
Loose cables, nuts and screws.

The M safety check is for old bikes and new.
It ensures that your bike is correctly put together and that every part of the bike is fitted
as intended by the manufacturer. It will identify worn out parts that are ready for replacement. And the most important thing of all, it makes sure your bike is safe.

When was the last time you checked over your child's bike. Did you check the tyres, brakes, seat height.
I saw a young child's bike 2 weeks ago. She said my brakes dont work very well.
Rear brake cable had seized and there was a front brake block completely missing.

Service time.
Remember, routine maintenance prevents costly repairs.

Let's get your bike ready.
Brake pads, blocks and rotors checked,
Hydraulic oils replaced,
Chain, cassette, chain ring and derailleur checked,
Wheels trued and bearings checked,
Bottom bracket checked
Headset bearings checked,
Brake cables and gear cables operate as they should.
Is your bike and your child's bike safe?
Make sure.

Please get in contact now to book your bike in.
Full assembly and "M" safety check carried out.
That way, on Christmas morning your loved one can ride their new bike and not just look at it in a box.
I'll take care of the rubbish. You'll just know that the bike is ready to ride, has been assembled correctly and is safe.
Can't be more simple than that.
