"Myself and my training partner Emily have been training with Michael since November 2016 (I think?) I signed up to personal training because I was just going to classes in the gym and not really pushing myself to see what I could do, I knew a PT could help, I also wanted to tone up my stomach and arms. As time went on weight became less of a goal and strength became a more prominent goal, I think it’s the competitive side of me that came out, wanting to beat my PB’s. Since beginning PT I feel a lot stronger than I was before, more confident in using nearly all the gym equipment and more self-confident in the way I look in tighter clothes or swimwear. Coming home from work and going straight to the gym seemed a chore sometimes as I was usually tired and just wanted to go home but as soon as my PT sessions started my mood always got better and I really enjoyed them. If I didn’t have a personal trainer I wouldn’t have HAD to go to the gym therefore I probably would’ve just gone home, so I feel like having a PT gets you to the gym in the first place which is the first step to reaching your goals and increasing your mood.
Michael is great at encouraging you to push yourself even when you don’t think you can go on any more. He made the sessions enjoyable and we always had a good laugh. He’s always available to contact, so when you’re stuck at the gym not knowing what the next exercise is he will be there to help. The best part of my journey is seeing results in the form of photos and measurements is a great pick me up when you have been working very hard, also getting to know a lot of people in the gym has been a great bonus however Sometimes the changes in diet would be hard to handle, I love food so it was hard to restrict calories.
When I started with Michael my upper body was very weak compared to my lower body, I could squat more than I should be able to but could barely do a shoulder press of 12kg. I am now a lot more confident in lifting weight with my upper body and I am a lot stronger than I was before. What surprised me the most was how changing your diet a little bit can make a big difference to your body, also how strong you can become in a short space of time if you work hard. My biggest change is my strength, smashing m PBs in short spaces of time has been great. I was expecting to become a lot slimmer and drop weight and dress sizes but instead I am heavier I have gained a lot of muscle and toning up in the right areas and dropped inches helping me gain the curvy figure Im looking for!
