Coming up with social media is really tough. Hardest part of the job to be honest. The bottom line is, the main point of every post I do is about getting people to move.

If you’re anything like me, a dad in your 40’s, the body is beginning to ache, energy wavers.

However, time is passing…quickly. Make time for yourself to exercise - 5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins…whatever you can.

Get out of the house.

Walk. Lift weights. Ride a bike. Take your kids to the park and actually play with them.

You’re not training for a six-pack. You’re training for you to be strong enough to function and have a positive mindset to enjoy life.

Feel good about yourself.

Let’s be honest…

Nutrition can be boring.

Calories, protein, carbs, hydration, meal timing, micronutrients… sometimes it feels like everyone’s trying to tell you the “best” way to eat.

The truth? There isn’t one.

Some of my clients want to lose weight.
Some want to build muscle.
Some want to run faster.

Some just attend sessions to help them feel more positive and get through the day!

Different goals = different approaches.

But no matter what your goal is, understanding the basics of nutrition matters.

✔️Carbs give you energy.

✔️ Hydration keeps you performing.

✔️ Timing can support training and recovery.

✔️ Micronutrients keep your body functioning properly.

✔️ Protein helps repair and build muscle.

You don’t need to be perfect.

You don’t need to follow the latest fad diet.

And you definitely don’t need to eat chicken, rice and broccoli seven days a week.

You just need to understand what your body needs and find a balance that works for YOU.

Because progress isn’t just built session to session…it’s built by what you do between sessions too.

Delighted to launch a Myofascial Release Workshop led by Sue Stewart from 9.30am - 12.30pm on Sunday 19th July.

Discover the Power of Self-Myofascial Release (SMFR)

Do you struggle with stiffness, aches, recurring tightness, poor mobility, stress, or feeling disconnected from your body?

Join us at SB Fitness Banchory for an interactive workshop where you’ll learn practical self-care techniques to help improve flexibility, movement, recovery and overall wellbeing.

In this workshop you’ll discover:

✔ What Self-Myofascial Release (SMFR) is and how it works

✔ How tension and posture patterns develop in the body

✔ The connection between stress, the nervous system, and movement

✔ How scars and previous injuries can affect the way your body functions

✔ Simple techniques to improve flexibility, elasticity, and body awareness

✔ How to support your own recovery and long-term movement health

You’ll also take part in a guided taster session where you can experience the techniques for yourself in a safe and supportive environment.

We’ll finish with refreshments, informal discussion and the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.

The workshop is limited to 18 places.

The cost is £20 per person (includes refreshments).

The ‘World Cup Workout’ took place this morning and what a fantastic atmosphere!

A brilliant effort from everyone who came along with plenty of energy and excitement to get us in the mood for the big game tonight.

The World Cup winners were:

🏆 First session – Scotland
🏆 Second session – Haiti

⚽🏆 SB Fitness World Cup Workout – Are You Ready? 🏆⚽

The response to the SB Fitness ‘World Cup Workout’ has been fantastic with great numbers signed up for both the 7–8am and 8–9am classes tomorrow morning.

Here’s how it will work:

Participants will be assigned one of five World Cup teams:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland
🇭🇹 Haiti
🇧🇷 Brazil
🇲🇦 Morocco
🇺🇸 USA

If an individual is wearing a Scotland shirt or any international football strip, your team will be awarded an extra goal before the workout begins! (Completely optional, but highly encouraged!)

The session will still follow the usual Strong Class format, focusing on key strength exercises.

Throughout the full workout, 5 bodyweight challenge exercises will be included:

• Press-Ups
• Squat Jumps
• Squat Thrusts
• Burpees
• Walk-Outs

For every 5 reps completed, your team scores a goal. You’ll have two opportunities to improve your score by completing two loops of the workout. Your best score will count.

Once everyone has finished, all goals will be totalled to create each team’s final score.

🏆 The team with the most goals scored will be crowned the SB Fitness World Cup Champions!

All exercises can be modified to suit individual abilities, so everyone can get involved.

Get ready for a great workout, some friendly competition and plenty of team spirit!

WORLD CUP WORKOUT – SATURDAY 13TH JUNE 🏋️⚽️

Get ready to kick off World Cup season, the SB Fitness way!

Ahead of Scotland’s first World Cup match, SB Fitness is bringing a fun, competitive, football-inspired workout to both Saturday STRONG classes.

Class Times:

• 7:00am – 8:00am
• 8:00am – 9:00am

You’ll be paired up and assigned a country with workouts. Wear your Scotland shirt or favourite national team colours and earn bonus goals!

✅ Suitable for all fitness levels

✅ Scalable exercises and reps

✅ Team atmosphere and plenty of fun

✅ No football skills required!

There are also lots of other classes available that focus on key areas of fitness which can be modified for all abilities.

Don’t forget the kids Thrive classes on a Friday evening also from 6.15pm (Boys) and 7pm (Girls).
