After a long winter, we look forward to a busy weekend of cricket, with plenty of exciting new faces joining the senior squads.

Saturday

• 1st XI travel away to face Maidstone Morton, with highly regarded duo Humza Ishaq and Shabaz Alam (Shabba) set to make their debuts.

• 2nd XI play at home at Hanwell Fields, where local legend Faisal Khalid makes his debut for the Lions.

Sunday

• 1st XI host Reading Renegades at home, with former England U19s pace gun Atif Sheikh and talented all-rounder Waqar Ali Ahmed making their debuts.

This weekend offers supporters a fantastic opportunity to watch some quality cricketers in every game. We encourage all fans to come down and show their backing for the Lions. Your continued support is greatly appreciated as we welcome these strong new players to the squad.

We’re thrilled to have Atif Sheikh join The Banbury Lions Sunday team in the South East Shires Cricket League.

As a left arm fast bowler, Atif brings experience from English county cricket. He made his first-class debut for Derbyshire in 2010, played for Leicestershire from 2014–2016 (including a memorable hat-trick against Gloucestershire in the County Championship), and also featured for Northamptonshire.

He will be available for the full season, adding real strength to our lineup!
