Another successful morning for the 2019 Tigers in the Lisburn League — with goals, goals and MORE goals! ⚽️🔥

The boys once again worked tirelessly throughout their games, and the hard work they’ve been putting in at training is really starting to show on the field. 💪👏

A brilliant Man of the Match performance from Max McGrath, who was outstanding at the back and worked brilliantly across all three games. 🏆⭐️

Well done, boys! Keep working hard and keep enjoying your football! 🐅⚽️👏🔴⚫️

The 2016 Lions played out an entertaining draw against a very good Hillsborough Boys side in Dunmurry on Saturday Morning.

It was Hillsborough who took the early initiative in the game as Banbridge were slow to start. A defensive mix up and a long ball over the top meant the boys were trailing 2-0 at half time.

Some stern words at half time were needed as the boys needed to up the intensity of the game to match their opponents. Second half was a different performance altogether with the boys fighting for every ball and seizing the impetus in the match by sustaining attacks on the Hillsborough goal.

The pressure eventually paid off when an Ollie corner found the excellent Caolan who steered the ball in after a well timed run. The equaliser came soon after when Daniel hit a sublime first time half volley into net from distance.

Banbridge pushed for the winner with the opposing keeper making some tremendous saves from Jack, Charlie and Rueben and with the last kick of the game Alex hit the crossbar. In the end a draw was a fair result as it was a game of two halves.

Player of the match went to Daniel. He won plenty of duels in the game and showed excellent quality on the ball. Topped off by a wonderful goal to pull his team level in the match! 🔴⚫

2018 Lions v Rosario

The Lions were sensational from start to finish, delivering an outstanding team performance.

Aggressive without the ball, creative in possession and clinical in front of goal, the boys played some brilliant football and fully deserved the result.

Every player contributed and worked tirelessly for the team. A superb display from everyone—well done 👏⚽.

The 2017 Lions were slow to get going from the first whistle in Lisburn this morning, while Newcastle came out ready for the battle. We found ourselves 2–0 down at half-time after a tough opening 25 mins.

The boys showed a lot more fight and determination in the second half, looking much more like themselves. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to turn the game around, with the final score finishing 4-2 in Newcastle’s favour.

A disappointing result, but a good reminder of the level the boys have to play at every week. 💪 Jake and Cooper shared motm today- well done lads

The Banbridge Town 2014 Tigers came away with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Castlewellan Town this morning in what was a fantastic, tight and competitive game from start to finish.

Banbridge started brightly and opened the scoring with a now trademark Sebastian finish from distance. After some excellent football from Sean Paul and Hugo, thy found Seb who drove a low effort into the corner of the net to give the Tigers the lead.

Banbridge continued to create chances throughout the first half, while battling hard all over the pitch. The Tigers’ effort and determination saw them go into the break 1–0 ahead.

The second half was another incredibly tight affair, with Castlewellan coming more into the game and putting Banbridge under pressure. Their persistence eventually paid off as they found the equaliser with a great breakthrough goal to make it 1–1.

That goal seemed to spur the Tigers into action, and Banbridge responded brilliantly by creating some more chances.

Then came the moment that ultimately decided the game.

Jackson G climbed highest to meet the ball and produced a fantastic looping header, sending it into the top corner and putting the Tigers back in front at 2–1. A brilliant finish and a deserved reward for Banbridge’s persistence.

The final ten minutes were all about defending the lead, and the Tigers showed tremendous character and determination to see the game out.

The defence worked brilliantly, with Jordi particularly impressive. He is really starting to come into his own in that position and was fantastic throughout, making some excellent defensive contributions when Banbridge needed them most.

🏆 Man of the Match: Thomas

Today’s Man of the Match goes to Thomas, who put in a fantastic battling performance on the left-hand side. He gave absolutely everything from the first minute to the last and was a constant source of energy and determination for the Tigers.

A brilliant team performance from the 2014s against a very strong Castlewellan side. Plenty of chances created, plenty of battling, and a fantastic response when Castlewellan levelled.

The 2015 Panthers played out an exciting game against Caldeon Rovers this morning over at Tandragee Leisure Centre. After falling behind early on, the Town lead 2-1 with goals from Henry and Shane.

The opposition hit back and then took the lead right on half time. The Town lads came out the 2nd half applying a lot of pressure and had the ball cleared off the line before Caldeon made it 4-2. Two quickfire goals from Henry and Ahmed levelled the game up at 4-4.

An end to end affair all day with plenty of chances, it was the opposition who took the lead again before the Town had another goal bound shot well cleared off the line. Caldeon added one more late on to finish the match 6-4.

Great effort and determination to get back into the game was shown by the boys and on another day, the scoreline could have been reversed.

Man of the Match was Henry with 2 goals and 2 assists 👏👏

Rathfriland Youth 0

Great team performance from the Lions this morning in Rathfriland, bossed the game from the first minute & scored early when Max K scored from a corner routine straight off the training ground.

Bertie made it 2 with a neat finish, Jude hit the bar with a curling effort from the edge of the box & the Rathfriland keeper made a number of great saves in both halves & we missed a penalty too, disappointed we didn’t score more but 3 points & up the road💪🏻🔴⚫️

2016 Tigers v Crewe Utd

The boys started off on the front foot putting great pressure on the crewe all over the park and got there reward with a free kick from Teddie 💥

Crewe got themselves back into the game with a great goal from distance.

The tigers got a foothold of the game with two more goals from Ben and Franc before half time.

2nd half started and Crewe got another quick goal to get them back into the game, but the boys were determined today to get this one over the line and the boys worked their socks off and got another two goals from Ben and Teddie

Crewe got a late goal but the Tigers came out on top.

Our MOTM today was Zach, he was solid as a rock today at the back with some great tackles and calmness on the ball.. Well done Zach 👏

It was Friday Night Lights for the 2014 Panthers who made the trip to Warrenpoint to face a competitive Windmill side.

In a game that could have gone either way it was Windmill who struct first with a scrappy goal that several Panthers players failed to deal with.

This was the wake up call that was needed as both Theo and Daniel came close to equalising. The defensive trio of Niall, Teddy and Adam, along with goalkeeper Orán held firm as Windmill tried in vain to double their lead as half time approached.

With Thomas, Herbie, Seb and Jackson now starting to control the middle of the pitch, it was the Panthers who looked more like scoring and the equaliser duly came in spectacular fashion.

Paddy curled in a fantastic free kick that nestled in the bottom corner to leave the Windmill goalkeeper with no chance.

With both teams now searching for a winner it was Windmill who claimed it from a corner when their player struck the ball home from close range. The heads didn’t drop and the Panthers threw everything but the kitchen sink in the dying minutes in search of what would have been a well deserved equaliser, but it wasn’t to be.

Special mention must go to captain (and birthday boy) Daniel who led the line superbly. Man of the match deservedly went to Adam who played both left and right back and did a great job in causing havoc with his work rate and long throw-ins.

Onwards and upwards. 💪💪
