Where do tradition’s come from? I don’t know.
If I was to make a guess it would be from a profound shared experience you want to recreate again and again. Walking under the last full moon of the year. The Cold Moon the longest full moon of the , Bivvying out under its bright cold light and watching the sun rise was one of those experiences. I would be happy to make this my new Christmas tradition.

ā€œI fu***ng hate cavesā€ is what I said as I could no longer see where I was going. Swell was starting to fill the cave as we moved into the blinding darkness. I turned my head to see the exit. ā€œThank f**k for thatā€ a tiny circle of light appeared, enough for me to get the hell out, no invitation neededšŸ˜† You should do something that challenges you as often as you can. What’s the best thing about caves? Seeing the sky afterwards.

Times of transition, this time of year is an interesting one for me. I definitely get seasonal adjustment disorder. The end to surfing early and late in the day. Long nights make me agitated. On the flip side I’m super excited for the winter months in the mountains. I miss them after a long summer in the ocean. ā€œNothing is permanent, except change.ā€

We have some huge news at , we are welcoming world-record breaking mountaineer and polar expeditioner Mollie Hughes to the team as a Director and co-owner of OV.

Over the past 10 years Mollie has taken part in many expeditions across the globe, including reaching the summit of Mount Everest from both the northern [2017] and southern [2012] route. In 2020 Mollie became the youngest woman to ski solo from the coast of Antarctica to the geographic South Pole, covering 700 miles in 58 days.
