Quidditch Premier League

Quidditch Premier League The Quidditch Premier League is the first nationwide league in the UK for the fast-growing sport of quidditch during the summer months. That is, until now.

The Quidditch Premier League will bring a new level of competitive play to the summer months in the United Kingdom. Exact dates are yet to be confirmed, but our tentative schedule for the inaugural season begin in June 2017 and end in late August 2017. Inspired by the success of Major League Quidditch in the United States, we will have regional divisions with teams competing against each other in

a regular schedule. Each fixture will comprise of three matches, where each team plays the other three teams in the division. The QPL season will conclude with a scintillating championship weekend, bringing the teams from each division together to crown a champion. Though a UK league has been demanded for years, nobody has truly attempted to bring a project of this scale to British quidditch players across the country. We intend to be the focus of domestic quidditch during the summer months, and to provide a spectacle for those new and old to the sport alike.

We all wish next weekend could have been, as planned, the occasion we would crown the 2020 champions of the Quidditch Premier League.

While that wasn't to be, we wanted to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to the players who accepted their squad places on a casual basis, and have been a part of our 2020 team groups keeping connected and positive during the last few turbulent months. We also wanted to thank our 2020 managers, who have adapted to their role and kept their teams motivated to stay fit, stay safe, and stay in contact.

We put together these roster graphics with their names to give you a glimpse at what might have been, and, of course, to prompt the question.... who would have won?

*** 2020 season update ***

The 2020 season of the Quidditch Premier League has regrettably been suspended due to the ongoing global pandemic.

Please read our official statement for all the details, including next steps for players:

And once you've done that, click attending on the event to stay up to date with all the details!

We're going to be showcasing each region over the next few days - first up, it's the UK North!

Never short of surprises, the UK North is always one of our most nail-biting divisions. After 2019, where the Scottish Thistles just squeezed out the Northern Watch in the final standings at the Championship Weekend, expect to see this old rivalry renewed for another chapter, while the Yorkshire Roses will be launching one of their strongest campaigns for glory yet.
