To maintain our excellent club nights and good standard of play. Guests need to be of league standard play. Guesting is by invitation only. We cannot accommodate walk-in/ adhoc guests unfortunately due to our busy club nights.

Guests are invited to trial for 1-3 sessions then the membership committee will review and offer membership if a space is available, add you to the waiting list or direct to a more suitable place for you to play.

Another successful tournament!

Another tournament- another semifinal!

Not in the mixed this time. Me and Steph won our first 2 two matches playing in short busts of quality but the last game in our group, our styles didn’t match up well and we just couldn’t control the tempo of the match to the way we could win.
Alway next time!

Singles I managed to navigate my way through the group winning both in 2 ends. Unlike me lol

Round of 16 took a lot of concentration, was a game that could have got away from me but my fitness and consistency got me over the line.

1/4 final played well in the first game and then totally lost concentration! Went 0-8 and 4-11 down. Use the time in the interval to remind myself what I was doing in the first and eventually won 21-18.

Now the 1/2 final, probable needs it’s own post really.
I was on court for well over an hour and just lost out 25-23 in the 3rd set! I had match points but my opponent played some quality shots to save them, finding the line on 3 occasions.
Very proud to reach that far in only my second singles tournament in years and come so close to making the final.

Thanks for all the support Ashaway Badminton and Kelly Marie Risley, work we are doing is really paying off.

Next tournament time to break through the semi final barrier and make a final!

Goode Sport are opening a shop!



Opening day: Thursday 30th January from 9am

Special Celebration evening from 4.00 – 8.00pm

Drinks, nibbles, special offers and appearances from sponsored pro players.

A free gift and discount voucher for all visitors on 30th and 31st January.



The retail shop is on site at their warehouse in Welwyn Garden City. Normally distributing to the trade, this is the first time they have had a specific ‘show’ area where customers can browse and purchase racket sports equipment.



Selling badminton, squash, tennis and racquetball products and footwear, they also offer a re-stringing and demo service.



The address is below, on site car parking is available. Please use the bell for Goode Sport for entry, using the side door of the building.
