Scottish Cup Qtr Final v Bonnyton

An Ayrshire fixture for the Qtr Final draw as we took the short trip up to Kilmarnock. The boys started off flat but quickly came into their game, a free kick earned on the edge of the box was fired home by Lyle on the 18th min. Followed mins later by a great finish from Logan from distance 0:2. Bonnyton responded with a goal on the half time whistle HT 1:2.

Second half was an even matched game both sides creating chances but it was Bonnyton that got their equaliser with 15 to go. And held out for penalties. FT 2:2 PENS 4:3 (Dawson, Oscar & Lyle) never an easy to go out that way, first penalty shot out they have lost it was a hard one for boys to take. Great achievement to get to the Quarters and will aim to go a step further next season.

Regional Cup Round 3 v St Peter’s FC

Back to back away cup games, a heavy pitch and the weather didn’t help for free flowing football, with the teams cancelling each other out for most of the game chances were few and far between FT 0:0 PENS 2:4 (Dawson, Oscar, Lyle & Tobey)

Regional Cup Round 4 v Arthurlie Whites

A home tie for this round, Arthurlie had the better of us in the first half, converting 2 in a few mins after 20 mins we found ourselves trailing, HT 0:2 we came out stronger in the second half started to create chances of our own, with Lyle converting a free kick from the edge of the box but failed to find that equaliser. FT 1:2

Another great cup run came to an end against strong opposition but the boys can take pride in the way they never gave up till the final whistle.

Regional Cup 🏆 Round 2 v Giffnock Black

In what turned out to be a fairly scrappy half we actually started off brightly, Oscar took a great first touch before hitting it from distance scoring after just 5 mins and again on 13mins his shot was saved by keeper but followed up to score second time of asking. HT 0:2.

The damp conditions and a heavy pitch hampered our playing style as we struggled to get our passing game going and it took us till the hour mark to take the game out of touch for the host side, when Max MacLeod found the back of the net after a great strike over the keeper. Giffnock got the consolation goal shortly after. FT 1:3

Scottish Cup 🏆 6th Round v Dyce BC

We travelled the long road North in what was set up to be a good competitive game and it did not disappoint. The boys were refreshed and energetic from kick off creating the better of the opening chances, with Logan, Harris and Oscar coming close. Dyce settled and came back into their game and was evenly matched for the remainder of the first half HT 0:0

We regrouped and started to take the game to them, just before the hour mark Oscar drove with ball into the box, and was unlucky when the Dyce keeper managed to divert his shot, but Max was well positioned at the back post to slot it home 0:1, the boys energy quickly lifted again. Shortly after a nice flick on header by Nelson put Oscar in on goal and this time there was no doubt as he drilled it home from the edge of the box, 0:2. Then minutes later Kacper slotted a lovely through ball to Nelson who drilled home the third across goal FT 0:3

A great game overall and the boys showed their resilience when needed. 👏 onto the Quarters we go.

Congratulations to Dawson & Ruaridh 🙌 for making this years West Region Team. We can’t wait to follow your progress. It was tough selection process, and you both done yourselves and Boswell proud well done boys ⚽️👏

The first training session will be on Sunday 1st February 6pm report at lochinch.

A weekend well spent with their teammates, travelling early to allowed us to prepare well and have some extra team bonding ahead of the Sunday fixture. Great fun was had by all, with a trip into the city where Legends sports bar hosted our pool competition with Dawson running out the eventual winner beating Alexander in the final 👏🏆

A huge thank you to the Arnold Clark Community Fund for their £750 award. It helped us travel to Aberdeen for a weekend of preparation and team bonding, which paid off with a 3-nil win. We appreciate Arnold Clark's support for the boys journey this season.
