Whittlets Victoria U12 v Ayr United U12

We travelled across town to face the Vics for our first league match in our
new away kit under the lights at New Victory Park.

The girls continued to show high commitment, strong in the tackle and working hard on and off the ball.
We struggled in the first half to get a foothold in the game with some slack passing but grew into it in the second half with some good passing moves carving out scoring opportunities.

Both goalies making good saves during the game kept the score down in what was a very competitive match with both coaches happy with their teams work rate and effort.

Player of the Match
Another tough one to pick this week so a joint award again;
Mollie who volunteered to play in goals as our goalie was ill and made some excellent saves, well done and Lillie who had a great game at centre back defending strongly and sensibly throughout the game.

Queen of the South U12 v Ayr United U12

We travelled down to Dumfries for our latest SW League A match against a strong, well organised Queens team.

The girls showed great commitment from the start, working hard all across the pitch and did a fantastic job of making it difficult for our opponents to play when out of possession. Strong in the tackle we matched the opposition and displayed great team spirit.

We also tried to play football when we had the ball and played some really good stuff in spells and were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet despite creating some good opportunities.

A brilliant performance and also putting into practice what we had worked on at training so the coaches were really proud of their efforts today.

A huge well done to Amèlie, Daisy, Mollie and Sophia for taking a spell in goals today you all did a great job with some good saves and ball handling!🌟

A great team performance today, so despite some very good individual performances, this weeks award goes to EVERYONE for their commitment, hard work and discipline.🔥

Ayr United U12 v Clarke Drive Reds U12

We welcomed the Reds to a warm and sunny Belmont Academy for our latest SW League A match.

The girls struggled with the heat and also getting to grips with a very well organised and technically excellent Clarke Drive team.

We battled hard all over the pitch in the heat and managed a few good passing moves at different stages in the game. A great learning experience for our girls against really strong opponents and well done for their efforts today.

Blantyre Celtic U12 Festival

We travelled to Hamilton for the Blantyre Celtic tourney after our expected league game had to be cancelled.

After a slow start the girls grew into the group games and we played some really good football moving the ball well and scoring some great goals. We also battled well all over the pitch and after starting out being too nice to our opponents we learnt to match their physicality.

We finished second in the group behind Rossvale Renegades after one loss, one win and one draw and gave a good account of ourselves. The put us into the Cup Semi-Final against our hosts who were top of their group and unbeaten.

The girls battled hard in the semi against a strong Blantyre team scoring a well worked goal early and then defending strongly while trying to play good passing football. After a dubious "offside" equaliser the girls hung in to take the game to penalties.

Both keepers made some excellent saves in the shootout with Ruby saving the last Blantyre penalty to take us to the final. A great effort from those that were brave enough to take a kick and our goalie making some great saves in our first ever shootout.

Onto the final where we once again faced Rossvale the girls started well and defended well but we started to tire and despite our best efforts it wasn't to be our day.

Finishing as Runners-Up in our first tournament is a great effort from all the girls who should be really proud of themselves as the coaches were after their performances today.
It shows what a great team they are as all 4 finalists were the teams in our group.

The 🌟full squad🌟as everybody played a part in today's performances against some really good teams in our first ever tournament.

Stewarton Annick U12 v Ayr United U12

We made the short hop up the A77 to Kilmarnock for our latest SW League A fixture against Stewarton.

In what turned out to be a very competitive game the girls competed strongly from the start and played some good passing football at times.

We worked really hard in defence out of possession and both teams created good chances throughout the game. The girls battled hard and produced another great performance against a strong, physical opposition team.

We welcomed Whitletts to an unusually sunny Queen Margaret Academy for our opening SW League A fixture.

The girls competed well against our strong, physical opponents and tried really hard to move the ball and create opportunities.

Both teams struggled with the heat in what was a very close game but played in great spirit with some good passing moves creating plenty of chances.
