Well, what can we say? That's me finished my 2nd competitive men's physique bodybuilding season. It's been a bit of mixed emotions, but I've loved every bit of it. I've still got the bug to go again after I take a decent year to 18 months off for an off-season to properly grow and let my body get back to normal. It's been an amazing 2 years competing, and I'm so proud of what I have achieved.
I just want to thank Stuart Maguire for all his support and guidance through my preps. The main goal was to look better and be more conditioned than last year, and we definitely achieved that! This year's journey was slightly different from last year's as my starting point was a lot better, and I had managed to put on a bit more size and muscle. It was still hard going reducing my calories to its lowest at around 2000cals, considering my maintenance was at 4000cals. The 11,000cals refeed days made up for it 🀣🀀!
I want to thank all my friends and family who have shown me so much support over the last 2 years. It's so very much appreciated!
My biggest thank you is to .killick.7, who has been the most amazing support for the last 2 years. Having the patience and understanding throughout even when I would be getting up at 4/5 am to go and do cardio, to putting me to bed at 9pm as I'm out the game on the couch πŸ™ˆπŸ€£. I can't thank her enough for all her positivity and support, with my meal prep, extra gym sessions, stage posing prep, and so much more. This year was even more extra special as Jayden and Olivia came to see me compete for the very first time, which was amazing! They have also been a great support throughout this journey. I'm so very lucky to have you 3 in my life ❀️
So overall, it's been a pretty successful 2 years competing, and I'm looking forward to the next part of my journey.

I had my first comp of my 2nd season competing yesterday. A nice trek to Aberdeen for the Granite classic bodybuilding comp. We were using this comp as a warm up for this week's PCA comp in Perth. I took a step up for this comp and was competing in the open class for mens physique, which had 9 competitors in it. This meant I was up against guys of all age groups and not natural like myself. I thought I might have nicked a 3rd place on the day, but it wasn't to be. It was a great experience, and even though it wasn't the outcome we hoped for, we learned from it, and we move on. I just want to say a big thank you to Stuart for all his guidance during my prep but a massive thank you to my gorgeous wife .killick.7 and my kids for being the best support I could ever ask for. You are all amazing and understanding, especially as the comp was on Mother's Day πŸ™ˆ.

Things I would never do as a Personal Trainer πŸ’ͺ🏼

What you want is a PT dedicated to getting you real results whilst keeping focus on your health. Whether you sign up for one of our energy packages or simply follow our workouts, you can be sure we would NEVER:

βœ… Prioritise cardio - you don't have to run an hour on the treadmill every day to feel the benefits of exercise. Strength and resistance training tailored to you is far more beneficial to creating a healthier, stronger version of you.

βœ… Promote the latest diet trend - no miracle pills, injections, or detox teas with us. It makes more sense to us to find balance in nutrition exercise and developing good habits without gimmicks.

βœ… Suggest huge calorie deficits as the way forward - undereating can cause more harm than good. I'll never push you to follow an unhealthy calorie restriction. Instead, I focus on nutrition and fuelling your body properly.

βœ… Neglect proper form - sacrificing form for more reps or to lift heavier weights can lead to injury if not executed properly, not progressing. I'm all about moving with intention and making every rep count safely.
