Coylton Tennis Club was delighted to host a special photocall to acknowledge and
sincerely thank all those involved in securing and supporting the purchase of the tennis courts. The Club thanks South Ayrshire Council for its invaluable support throughout the Community Asset Transfer process and in particular to Colin Love, Team Leader,
Community Asset Transfer (Asset Management). The Council’s guidance, advice and
constructive engagement have been instrumental in helping the Club progress towards taking ownership of the facility and securing its long-term future as a valued community asset.

Grant Murray, President, also extended sincere thanks to Fraser Drummond who, after the sad passing of his wife Lynn and our previous President, continued the process to its successful conclusion – a legacy that Lynn would be proud of.

Members were delighted to have the opportunity to thank Billy McHarg of WG McHarg & Co Ltd and Chris McCallum of the Spar, Coylton (Eveline Young, Shop Manager) and Jayline Bearings Ltd for their generous donations to support the purchase of the
courts. These donations plus many others from businesses and individuals from Coylton Community and afar, helped make this purchase possible, and we are incredibly grateful for the support and belief in the future of our club.

Councillor William Grant, Policy Lead Education and Lifelong Learning/Ward 7 attended also and was able to hear first hand how the pupils of Coylton Primary School are benefitting from this local amenity by attending coaching sessions at the courts
run by the Club Coach James McNaught in conjunction with the school.

A significant investment from South Ayrshire Council of £100,000 from the Council’s
Advancing Community Asset Fund will help to develop and regenerate our facilities
and enhance opportunities for members and the wider community.

We greatly appreciate and thank South Ayrshire Council for the time and commitment provided by Council officers and look forward to continuing to work positively with them and other funding partners to ensure that the tennis club remains a welcoming, accessible and sustainable facility for the people of Coylton and surrounding communities.

Well done who all took part in the final in-house tournament of the season, the Morris Thompson junior senior cup. The winners were Hamish and Norry, great day had by all 🎾🎾🎾

Big thanks to everyone who donated to our bottle stall. Between the ball activity and tennis game, we raised a total of £409!!!!. Special thanks to the volunteers and of course everyone who participated.

🎾 What an experience! 🎾

What an incredible opportunity for our coylton members Kevan mccrorie and Dougie Johnstone to play at Wimbledon! 🏆

They won the Play Your Way to Wimbledon competition to earn their place on the famous courts and got to experience playing a doubles match at Wimbledon — something they’ll never forget! 🙌

They had two matches:
🎾 Wednesday – lost 3-6, 3-6
🎾 Thursday – lost 3-6, 6-2, 7-10

The results didn’t go their way, but what an achievement just to get there and compete at Wimbledon! 💪👏

A fantastic experience, some great tennis and memories that will last a lifetime. 🌟🎾

Well done guys — you should be incredibly proud! 👏🏆

Historic Milestone for Coylton Tennis Club 🎉🎾

We are incredibly proud to announce that Coylton Tennis Club has officially completed the purchase of our tennis courts from South Ayrshire Council.

This is a truly historic moment for our club. After almost a century of tennis in Coylton, we now own the courts that have been at the heart of our club for generations. This secures the future of Coylton Tennis Club and gives us the opportunity to invest in and develop our facilities for the benefit of current and future members.

This achievement has only been possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of so many people over a number of years. To everyone who has supported the club, volunteered their time, offered advice or encouraged us along the way – thank you. This is a success that belongs to our whole tennis community.

As we celebrate this historic milestone, we also want to recognise two people without whom this simply would not have happened.

Our sincere thanks go to Lynn and Fraser Drummond. It was Lynn’s determination, vision and hard work that set this process in motion. Following Lynn’s untimely passing, Fraser carried that vision forward, seeing the process through to its successful conclusion. We know this cannot have been easy, and the club owes him a tremendous debt of gratitude for ensuring Lynn’s work and legacy were realised.

The purchase of our courts is a lasting tribute to Lynn’s passion for Coylton Tennis Club and a testament to Fraser’s perseverance in bringing that dream to fruition.

We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to Billy McHarg, WG McHarg & Co Ltd, Chris McCallum, Spar, Coylton, and Jayline Bearings Ltd.

These generous donations, along with many other contributions from businesses and individuals within the Coylton community and beyond, helped make this historic milestone possible. We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s support, generosity and belief in the future of our club.

Owning our own courts is the beginning of an exciting new chapter. As we look ahead to our centenary year in 2027, we can now plan with confidence, continue improving our facilities, and ensure Coylton Tennis Club remains a thriving community club for generations to come.
