Last night we concluded this year’s District Finals. Thanks once again to Stranraer Bowling Club for the use of their green. The green was running great once again despite the weather. Thanks also to Ian McWhirter and Christine Sherry for umpiring, and to President Lorna McHarrie for the hospitality and prize giving.

Congratulations to all the winners who will now represent District 32 at the Scottish Finals at Ayr in August. Commiserations to the beaten finalists.

Last night was our second instalment of the three-night trilogy of finals, with Wigtown taking their turn as hosts. It was fantastic to see another great crowd in attendance watching some top-class bowling, with three of the games going right down to the wire.

Congratulations to all the winners who will now represent District 32 at the Scottish Finals in Ayr this August. Commiserations to all the beaten finalists.

A huge thank you to Wigtown Bowling Club for hosting. The green was running superbly — credit to greenkeeper Frances Smith and everyone else connected with the club for the hospitality shown throughout the evening.

Thanks also to Ian McWhirter & Christine Sherry for umpiring, and Mark McKie & Malcolm McDonald for marking the singles. I would also like to wish President Mark McKie all the very best for the remainder of the season.

Please note that all games start at 7pm, with the exception of the Ladies Fours which will start at 6pm.

Can all players please be at the greens no later than 30 minutes before their game so they can collect their stickers and take part in the rink draws.

Just to note, I have had a few comments regarding the condition of some of the greens lately. Unfortunately, I am limited as to which greens I can use and also how many rinks are available each night.

I have taken all comments onboard, so please bear with me as it may mean some players will need to travel slightly further. As in previous years, I will always try to use the best greens available.
